This is interesting. A new article regarding the 2024 legal dispute between PPG and Archosaur recently came out. I'd like to be realistic and just say that's very random but I can't help but think it's a form of retaliation.

The central criticism is basically: Instead of competing purely through better products and marketing, companies may try to exploit competitors' existing IP, brand recognition and search traffic to acquire users more cheaply.

"Papergames has built user barriers with its long-term IP ecosystem, while latecomers like Zulong have technological advantages but lack native brand awareness, so they treat competitor keyword traffic as a low-cost shortcut to acquire users."

How can we not speculate them as shady when they've been moving like snakes against PPG for a while now.

@aimerraven I also personally think they should have waited to introduce Valko as a LI until he had already shown up in the main story. There still would've been backlash like Caleb and Sylus, but I think it would have minimised it

@aimerraven Just how badly it's been handled is kind of unique to LaDs. They also have more games that are fine. I actually dont know why they didnt do the same as InNikki; stand your ground and not remove anything, address the built up player complaints, and provide a roadmap for updates.

@aimerraven In March. Completely unrelated to Shaw (that was 2019). Players and revenue had declined a lot for a long time (game's been open a long time, kind of overshadowed by LaDS), and since it was published by a third party it was more expensive to maintain. Basically the money ran out.
