I'll never believe it even from Raf's mouth that he is this big manipulative and always-in-control guy cause last year in his promise card he admitted that the memories and flashbacks he's been having of his past with MC were so painful he chose to ignore them and run away into a fantasy with MC, then in the same breath had a conversation about how now it's time to face them and wake up > then MS update dropped this year, having him confront those very things and further reveal he doesn't hold his full memories, which he already mentioned in the same promise how all the dreams and flashbacks were fragmented and confusing, making it hard for him to discern what was memory or dream.

sometimes people forget Rafayel isn't all-knowing and has and will continue to simply be wrong and mess up too, or view himself one way while the truth lies somewhere else. his content has always been like this, it's moments like that that allow character growth and progression ^^
