1. Všichni jsou Trumpovi vděční, i ti, co ho nevolí, neuznávají a nemají rádi. I ti, kteří budou muset kvůli ukončení azylového řízení zpět do vlasti.
2. Trump se pro republikány může stát opakem toho, čím se stal JFK po Zátoce sviní pro Kubánce. Američtí Kubánci (starší generace) jsou kvůli němu nadosmrti proti demokratům a tato generace am. Venezuelanů může být navždy pro republikány.
3. Porušení mezinárodního práva je jim všem naprosto jedno. "Kde jste byli vy dodržovači mezinárodních práv, když Chavez nechal střílet na mostě do lidí a Maduro mučil naše lidi?" ptala se mě dotčeně jedna z oslovených Venezuelanek.
4. Pro ty, co jsem s nimi mluvila, to není invaze cizí země do té jejich. "Jsme s Američany dlouhodobě propojení. A Maduro nám naši zemi unesl. Osm milionů lidí neodešlo ze země jen tak (čtvrtina obyvatel)."
5. Opatrní jsou v tom, že musí být ostraněni všichni z Madurova okolí, protože nechtějí opakování situace po pádu Cháveze, po němž nastoupil jeho viceprezident Maduro.
6. Ti, kdo nejsou rádi, jsou příznivci Madura, kteří z režimu zbohatli. Můžou mít strach z postihu. A možná někteří, kteří budou muset kvůli konci azylu zpět do USA.
7. Velká část Venezuelanů chce zpět do vlasti. "Amerika je těžká země. Jít k zubaři tu stojí 5000 dolarů. Nesmysl. Pokud to bude bezpečné, spousta lidí půjde zpátky," řekla mi další Venezuelanka.
