Ys II Special has a very unique history. It was developed by the Korean company Mantra after acquiring the rights to the Ys series from the Japanese company Nihon Falcom. While it’s quite different from the traditional Ys games and is considered more of a spin-off, it was fully localized into Korean, so for many players at the time, this was actually their first introduction to the Ys franchise. It was also a well-made and enjoyable game that became quite popular.
To make matters worse, I ran into a floppy disk error in the middle of playing the game. Thankfully, I happened to have a second copy of the package, so I was able to get past it without too much trouble.
