I am honoured to address the 35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice #CCPCJ35.
We meet at a time when the foundations of multilateralism are being tested and the global criminal landscape is rapidly evolving - becoming more transnational, more digital and more complex.
Through this Commission, our collective responsibility is to ensure that multilateralism delivers real impact that helps make people safer, better protected and less forgotten.
My remarks centered on the need for dialogue, imperative for collective responsibility, and commitment to the rule of law in order strengthen the fight against transnational organized crime. I also underscored UNODCโs enduring mission to make societies safer, more just and more prosperous.
Today, the Attorney General Hon. Dorcas Oduor, EGH, presided over the 58th National Coordinating Committee (NCC) Meeting held at the KICC, where stakeholders from various sectors convened to deliberate on strengthening integrity systems, promoting accountability and enhancing the fight against corruption.
In her remarks, the Attorney General underscored the importance of collective responsibility, institutional collaboration and regional partnerships in advancing good governance and ethical leadership. She noted that Kenya continues to make significant strides in strengthening anti-corruption frameworks through coordinated reforms, policy implementation and enhanced accountability mechanisms.
She further highlighted the role of the Kenya Leadership Integrity Forum (KLIF) in fostering stakeholder engagement and promoting a unified national approach towards integrity, transparency and public trust. The Attorney General reiterated the Governmentโs commitment to sustaining reforms aimed at improving service delivery and reinforcing the countryโs governance structures.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for engagement and knowledge exchange between Kenya and South Africa on best practices in combating corruption and strengthening institutional integrity systems.

2/2 During the session, the State Dept presented its priority programmes essential to delivering its mandate, alongside key deviations between its budget estimates and the approved 2026 BPS ceilings insights that will guide implementation in the coming financial year.
1/2 Today, the State Department for Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs, led by the Principal Secretary Hon. Judith Pareno, appeared before the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs to consider the budget estimates for the Financial Year 2026/2027.
2/2 The meeting reviewed progress on 2027 Election Preparedness, anchored on a whole-of-government approach bringing together IEBC, ORPP, KLRC, the Office of the AG, the State Dept. for Justice, Human Rights & Constitutional Affairs, and the Political Parties Tribunal.
1/2 H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime CS & CS for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs, today chaired the 1st National Development Implementation Committee (NDIC) meeting of 2026 at KSG.
He was joined by PSs & senior officials under the Governance & Public Administration Sub-Committee.
