Do you know wgat a Barotrauma is?
The first time I boarded a plane was 2015. I was super excited, as that was something I dreamt of. And it happened so fast. I only knew I'd be flying 3 days prior.
The first shocker was getting to the airport, I was not on time and almost missed check in. I didn't know that I have to come aarky and check in, bla bla. Me wey be say nah Bus stop I sabi.
Fortunately, I got in, passed security and boarded. Then the plane took off. Read a lot of people get scared of take offs and landing but I wasn't even worried a bit. The part I didn't read about was my ear.
Because of the cabin pressure during descends, my ear drum was gone. Out of balance and I kept rubbing it. Looked around and it seem everyone was fine, but I wasn't.

What I had was a Barotrauma and that was why I was popping my ear. And as per first time traveler, I didn't want to give it away that I was a JJC. With hindsight now, it was a very funny experience.
I've flew a lot since then and sometimes it still happens. Even after landing, and sometimes for like an hour.
Now I know how to manage it. Sometimes, I chew gum in the plane and if I don't have gum, I pretend to chew gum. This helps alot.
Have you had this experience before?
