.@curtis_yarvin says AI doomers got the Hugging Face incident backwards: “GPT-6 didn’t hack Hugging Face. OpenAI did.”
"This is a tool of a level of power that we haven't seen before in the past. It's still a tool."
"When OpenAI sets up a hacking swarm in a sandbox and says to the AIs, everything you find is simulated, it's completely unsurprising that they would go and hack everything they find to get the reward. It's not GPT-6 that hacked Hugging Face. It's OpenAI that hacked Hugging Face."
"We don't see self-driving cars, as they get smarter and smarter, being more prone to have thoughts of car liberation. These things don't seek anything. They hack the rewards."
"The smarter they get, the easier they are to control, and the better they are as tools."
@urbit
When journalists say "Xbox-Style controllers", they're talking about these:
The Freedom of Movement Control Unit (FMCU),
which is a universal, clunky, expensive... did I say EXPENSIVE handheld, clocking in at an eye-watering $2,200 per controller
Can you build a better one for cheaper?
Our nation needs you to.
In 1991, Linux was tightly coupled to the 386 architecture, completely unportable, and bound to AT hard disks.
By modern software engineering standards, it was an anti-pattern. But it solved the only problem that mattered: running a UNIX like environment at home without minix restrictions. The entire modern internet is built on the fact that an imperfect, monolithic MVP written in C easily beat the over-architected professional systems of the 90s.
This was one of the coolest scenes in the movie. All the firepower and the villain barely gets scratched, followed by "if it bleeds..." line. Pure 80s movie gold.
Predator’s "Shooting the Jungle" scene exists because the director got pissed off... and he hates it.
On set, John McTiernan kept getting heat from the studio for “not enough guns.” After days of it, he snapped: “Fine. You want guns? I’ll give you so much gunfire you’ll get the orgasm you’re itching for, and then we stop this nonsense.”
So he shot the absurd sequence where Arnie and the boys mow down half of Central America (actually Mexico).
The line “We hit nothing” was McTiernan’s message to the studio: the scene accomplishes zero. It wasn’t meant for us... It was a note.
Ironically, dumping endless bullets into the jungle (or anything else for that matter) became an action-movie trope, one McTiernan even reused in Die Hard a year later.
Here is more then 200 vehicles synced in cyberpunk multiplayer, working perfectly... imagine the potential with the servers rp and so on!
Even in @FiveM you cannot do this 😱
this random number generator is just three lines of shifts and XORs
George Marsaglia introduced xorshift in 2003
despite its simplicity it passes many standard randomness tests and became the default RNG in several game engines
