Congratulations to Sebastian Ruiz, a senior in @StatisticsFSU who was selected for the inaugural cohort of @hhmi_science's competitive Cech Fellows Program!

While at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Janelia Research Campus — located just 30 miles outside of Washington, D.C. — Ruiz will investigate how AI can improve our understanding of neural networks.

Ruiz is also one of four FSU students selected this year for the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, a national honor recognizing outstanding students pursuing research careers in the sciences, engineering and mathematics.
