माननीय सांसद @MPDharmendraYdv जी आपसे आग्रह है कि आप #Nfobc फ़ेलोशिप पाने वाले Obc शोधछात्रों की समस्या को सदन में उठाएं। @MSJEGOI मंत्रालय से देशभर के विभिन्न विश्वविद्यालयों में Phd करे रहे शोधछात्रों को यह फेलोशिप दी जाती है। यह फ़ेलोशिप कभी भी समय से नहीं मिल पाती है।

OBC छात्रों के साथ @MSJEGOI मंत्रालय जबर्दस्त भेदभाव करता है। मंत्रालय पिछले 4 महीनों से OBC रिसर्च स्कालरों को NFOBC फेलोशिप नही दिया है। @nbcfdc वाले कहते हैं कि हमारे पास फण्ड नही है मिलेगा तो दे देंगे।

इतनी लापरवाही क्यों?

वित्तीय वर्ष खत्म होने वाला है। @ugc_india की सभी तरह की फेलोशिप आ चुकी है लेकिन @MSJEGOI के अंतर्गत ओबीसी को मिलने वाली #Nfobc फेलोशिप का कुछ पता नही है।
नोडल एजेंसी @nbcfdc संतोषजनक उत्तर देने में असमर्थ है।

PHD कर रहे Obc वर्ग के शोधछात्रों को मिलने वाली #Nfobc फ़ेलोशिप के लेट लतीफी के मुद्दे को @INCIndia के अध्यक्ष @kharge जी ने संसद में उठाया है। @MSJEGOI को OBC की फेलोशिप को 8-8 महीने तक रोककर नहीं रखनी चाहिए।

आज बजट भी पेश हो गया लेक़िन Phd कर रहे OBC छात्रों को NFOBC फेलोशिप नहीं मिली।
बहुत से शोधार्थियों को 8 महीने से फेलोशिप नहीं मिली है।
ऐसा पता चला है कि @MSJEGOI से जितना फंड मांगा गया उतना नहीं मिला है।
यानी फेलोशिप फ़िर आधी अधूरी ही आएगी?

कोई एम्पावरमेंट नहीं है सरकार बेवकूफ़ बना रही है लास्ट 6 महीने से आप लोगो ने फ़ेलोशिप नहीं दी दूसरी तरफ़ NFSC, NET JRF फेलोशिप hike हो गयी है लेकिन NFOBC अभी तक आप लोगो ने hike नहीं की, पिछड़े वर्ग के स्कॉलर्स के साथ भेदभाव बन्द कीजिये।

Plight of OBC Scholars Must End: Urgent Reforms Needed. @MSJEGOI @EduMinOfIndia @PMOIndia
In a society still plagued by persistent social injustices, where some are left in the shadows and others are denied opportunities, it is time for the champions of change to rise. The National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes, introduced in 2014-15, aimed to empower talents from OBC communities to pursue their research aspirations in higher education. Yet, a stark contrast between the program's ideals and its implementation has cast a dark shadow over this noble initiative. Herein lie the pressing issues that demand immediate attention within the National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes (NFOBC):
Inadequate number of NFOBC Slots: It is a matter of concern that only 1000 NFOBC slots are announced every year, while there are a total of 1100+ universities in the country. This situation is rather distressing, given that the number of NFOBC slots is significantly lower compared to other categories. There is an urgent imperative to increase the NFOBC slots to 5000 per year, with a subsequent goal of reaching 10,000 slots within the next five years.
Quarterly Disbursements, Annual Delays: The decision to transfer fellowship implementation to the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC) in October 2022 brought a significant change in the disbursement of funds for NFOBC scholarships. Instead of monthly disbursements, the Social Justice Ministry now releases funds on a quarterly basis. This subtle policy shift has wreaked havoc on the peace of mind of researchers, as their finances were meticulously planned around the monthly disbursements of the fellowship.
These delays are further exacerbated by communication breakdowns between university authorities and the fellowship agencies. This situation forces scholars to endure extended waiting periods, sometimes as long as 6-9 months, for their scholarship funds. Such inexcusable delays impose severe financial hardships on students, jeopardizing their ability to meet educational expenses and sustain their academic aspirations.
Delays in Releasing Candidate Lists and Award Letters: Another persistent issue is the delay in releasing the list of selected NFOBC candidates and the subsequent award letters. These documents are of paramount importance for scholars anxiously awaiting confirmation of their scholarship status and support. These delays disrupt the academic plans and financial security of numerous students. For instance, the latest list of selected candidates from the UGC-NET December cycle was released on the 10th of October, whereas the cycle's results were published in March. While the UGC takes less than one month to release the list of selected candidates, the NBFCDC takes more than 6 months.
Timely communication and documentation are the lifeblood of scholars who depend on the NFOBC fellowship program to finance their education. Delays in these critical processes breed uncertainty and hinder the smooth progression of students' academic and career aspirations.
Fellows of Inequality: A growing concern revolves around the lack of approval for an increase in the regular fellowship amount. While other fellowship programs, including the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and, most recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC), have augmented their fellowship amounts, the NFOBC and National Fellowship for Scheduled Castes (NFSC) under the Ministry of Social Justice have not received a similar boost.
It is a lamentable reality that we have inadvertently established a hierarchy of research programs and concerns, relegating some to secondary status. This mistreatment of NFOBC scholars, who do not receive the enhanced financial support necessary to cover the rising costs of education and living expenses, runs counter to the values of fairness and equality enshrined in our constitution. Approving an increase in NFOBC fellowships is imperative to ensure equitable opportunities for all eligible students.
These issues underscore the immediate need for reform within the NFOBC fellowship program. Addressing the challenges of funding disbursement, documentation delays, and approving a fellowship amount hike is pivotal in creating a just and supportive educational environment for all eligible NFOBC scholars. Advocacy and policy changes are indispensable to rectify these issues and guarantee equal access to educational opportunities. Social backwardness should be a chapter consigned to history, not a stark reality of today. Unity is our remedy for these persisting injustices, and together, we must stand to confront the challenges OBC research scholars face and demand the Government of India to immediately address our concerns.
