Bengaluru | On the demise of Congress leader Suraj Hegde, Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar says, "Suraj Hegde was my close friend. He is the grandson of Devaraj Urs. He was the vice president of the (Congress) Guarantees Committee and was also given a ministerial-level position in the state. He was a leader who never asked for any position. I wanted to give him the MP post from Mysuru. Even now, I had so much in mind for him. He served as an AICC Secretary and was also in charge of our state. I am unable to see the pain of his family. The party, the government, and I are deeply saddened. His family will inform us about the date of his final rites, and I will attend it."
