@philthatremains I suspect it’s more that they have forgotten what a country *is*, apart from the state apparatus that runs it. This is from the “no nations, no borders” people.
@kevinnbass This is not a correct analysis in one key respect: the total population should not be the denominator. The denominator should be the number of interactions between white and black people which, crucially, is symmetrical.
The result still tilts in the same direction, FWIW.
@devonboy3410@irishpatriot91@funke_dee This is post-modern medievalism: execution via “head injury”. A softer terminology to avoid accidental “malicious communication”.
@AaronBastani That’s just regular bias. Unconscious bias is the theory that we have internalized these things so much that we aren’t even conscious of it. Famously (and erroneously) measured by quick reaction testing (Implicit Association Test).
@Alcydane@DegenRolf It’s destroying both positive femininity and masculinity in favor of pathological versions of both. You described some of the pathological masculine traits, but we also see things like social bullying, “canceling”, and forced equity which pathologize the feminine.
@HPluckrose It comes up because it is based on an ancient evolutionary fear for men.
The point of making the testing mandatory is to accomplish the goal (paternity certainty) without requiring the men to voice their (low probability) fear and ruin a relationship.
Directional morality - morality based on defining a specific direction for change as “good” and assessing everything based on that single dimension.
Principled morality - morality based on defining and balancing conflicting interests based on an evolving set of principles.
@uubzu@UsingLyft Agreed. Though I am also seeing signs of men losing their ability to create. Population decline is catastrophic, but men losing their ability to create could be worse.
I imagine society collapsing and men just poking their dead phones wondering why UberEats is down.
@inquisitorhenry@cremieuxrecueil@HarmlessYardDog Even “ends justify the means” would be better than what we have because it would imply that they’re actually looking to see if their means are bringing about the ends that they claim. That’s not what happens.
@jeremykauffman@philthatremains Isn’t the violent wealth distribution largely a means to an end?
I doubt the decision-makers actually care about the recipients (apart from the NGOs).
