Student: "This may be a dumb question, but..."
Me: "You've been in this class for seven months. I haven't yet heard you ask a dumb question."
Student (very seriously, looking at me like I'm wrong): "Well, I have. I've heard myself ask A LOT of dumb questions."
Got to meet @MrCraigRobinson tonight after his show in Huntsville. He’s hilarious (as are his emcee and openers), a class act and so nice. Make sure to see him when he’s in your area!
The first day of the school year looks a bit different this time around. I know it does for you as well — just do your best and don’t worry too much about the rest. ❤️
As I tell my students, “it’s not a failure if you learned something or grew from the experience.”
@Erek_Smith Can we talk about this, please?? I seem to remember you spending $75+ on a pen fairly recently. Please private message me ASAP. Wanna make sure you're still Erek.
@Erek_Smith I've had good results from my chiropractor -- the only one I've ever seen. He hasn't tried to sell me supplements or anything -- I just do certain exercises & get the occasional adjustment.
@sopharela Saw you open for @Wilco in Bham and absolutely LOVED your set! My husband + I are officially Soccer Mommy fans now. Please come play in Denver soon!
@thechrisbarron My entire goal as a teacher is to believe in, and encourage, my students' dreams and aspirations. Thanks for the reminder to believe in them! And I am so, so glad you found success (on your terms) despite your stepmom's negativity.
@SenCoryGardner Senator, I am a teacher. Do NOT tell me you're sending "thoughts and prayers" when I have to regularly discuss the reality of gun violence with 11-year-olds. Children and teachers are dying. What are you going to DO about it?
It's #TeacherAppreciationWeek! If a teacher has made an impact on you, I encourage you to reach out to them. When a kid says, "you helped me" or "thank you," it means more to me than I can tell you. It's why I do what I do... to (hopefully) make a positive impact.
@mykdeen GoT used to be one of the most pirated shows, though it's my understanding that's not true anymore. But for our family: I pay for Netflix; he pays for HBO Now. ;) https://t.co/WVVkO8byQl
@Erek_Smith When Mac on Always Sunny wore nothing but Hawaiian shirts, it was because he was "cultivating mass." But "mental breakdown" seems more accurate for anyone/everyone else in that scenario.
