the real story is that the run of 2011-2025 was "historic," but for the wrong reasons, particularly the past 9.5 years (and counting) without a playoff win
they even expanded the playoffs to give Mike "7 seed" Tomlin more chances at mediocracy and he still couldn't do it!
Mike Tomlin gave Pittsburgh 19 seasons, 193 wins, 13 playoff appearances, 8 division titles, 2 AFC titles, a Super Bowl, and ZERO losing seasons.
Steelers fans can debate the ending all they want, but acting like that run wasn’t historic is stupid.
Mike McCarthy holds #Steelers coaches from taking the field at practice until the last second, right after stretch line.
Per the CBA, the practice clock starts once they take the field. So Pittsburgh can use the full allotted time on drills. Smart stuff from McCarthy.
- myles garrett off the browns = easy blowout x2
- labum can’t conquer my team
- zac taylor still employed by the bengals
STEELERS STILL RUN THE NORTH 😭💞
in hindsight, Myles Garrett probably couldn't have picked a better time to commit felony assault with a deadly weapon than 2019
I'd imagine that doing so today would have yielded a much longer suspension than just 6 games (only 2 games longer than for smoking weed in 2019)
Out of the AFC North:
The #Browns are trading superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett to the #LARams, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Pro Bowler Jared Verse and a 2027 first-round pick headed back to Cleveland, per Adam Schefter.
🚨🚨🚨
Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
Idc who gets cut in the QB room so long as it's not "Money" Mason Rudolph
Allar and Howard suck. Spend all offseason letting them battle it out for the practice squad.
Chris Simms "wouldn't be shocked" if the #Steelers cut 3rd round pick QB Drew Allar this summer and put him on the practice squad.
For the record, I don't agree at all.

We’re mixing up two things:
The Steelers made a BAD choice organizationally by not choosing to rebuild.
But that doesn’t mean Rodgers is a BAD QB
I watched a guy last year win the AFC North throwing to MVS and Adam Thielen
Excited to see what he can do with new look offense
If you boo Tomlin when he returns, 2 things need to happen to you.
1. Be forced to wear a sign around your neck for the rest year that says "I'm an immature moron"
2. Be banned from attending any Steelers game for the rest of your miserable life.
Most people knew it was time for Tomlin to hang it up, including Tomlin, and his final years were not good. But that is no reason to be a jagoff and disrespectful. That's not how Pittsburghers do things.
This sounds profound until you remember that perhaps nobody on Earth had a greater say than Mike Tomlin in constructing the roster and coaching staff (read: building blocks of perpetual mediocrity) over the past decade
The Steelers endless pursuit of Aaron Rodgers is proof that Mike Tomlin was not to blame for the Steelers obsession with trying to win 10 games every year. Even when it gets you no closer to winning the Super Bowl. It’s a Rooney philosophy. And it’s a bad one.
