Exciting research alert! Our team’s and @Rosenlab1 latest study dives deep into #melanoma, specifically NF1-mutant melanoma: highly aggressive with limited targeted therapies. We identified potential strategies to better tackle this challenging cancer. https://t.co/ocLX0Aq6U0.
Heartbroken after seeing a young patient with no medical history, end up with a BIFFL GRADE II dissection of the vertebral artery and subsequent acute PICA infarct immediately after a neck adjustment from the chiropractor. This has to stop.
Chiropractors - you HAVE to stop.
Rein in Sarcoma awarded a research grant to the University of Calgary through the RIS Kasey Altman Research Fund, focusing on rhabdomyosarcoma. The project aims to investigate cancer-associated fibroblasts in rhabdomyosarcoma to improve therapies. #Sarcoma#Research
we all want to and need to be prepared to train our own large-scale language models from scratch.
why?
1. transparency or lack thereof
2. maintainability or lack thereof
3. compliance or lack thereof
and because we can, thanks to amazing open-source and open-platform ecosystem.

@github customer support for critical issues on enterprise accounts is abysmal. No way to escalate attention for critical issues, and we have one unresolved since this morning.
We may not be one of your biggest customers but hard to envision becoming one with this SLA.
Why has productivity (GDP per hour worked) grown faster in the US than in Europe over the last 15 years.
[note: if you think this is because Americans work more than Europeans, you are wrong. Productivity measures output *per hour worked*]
CVS store-brand drugs are a few dollars cheaper and consumers could assume they're the same as the big, name brand ones. Mold, bacteria and barefoot factory workers say otherwise.

I was negotiating a Term Sheet with a founder, and just before wrapping up, he says “I have something that may be awkward to ask…”
I had no idea where the conversation was about to go, so I braced myself for what he was going to say.
Before sharing his ask, some context: He’s been working on this startup for 4.5 years (this is a Seed II round) and previously worked on his last startup for 4 years without a big exit. He has a baby at home and his partner watches the baby so that he can focus on his startup.
His ask was whether he could sell some secondary to be able to get a nanny a few times a week to help with the load at home and also get some time where neither he nor his partner was busy.
My immediate answer was of course. This isn’t some egregious secondary to cash out millions from his early stage business. It’s to bolster his Seed stage founder salary with a quality of life improvement.
What bothers me is how many other founders may have been too nervous to ask. When a founder is raising it’s often tough to be vulnerable about something like this.
In fact, the opposite should be true.
As VCs, we need our founders fully locked into their businesses without worrying about putting food on their table, paying rent, caring for a child or elderly parent, etc.
Everyone’s situation is different and there’s no blanket answer for how to handle things aside from talking through things openly and without judgement. In fact, once a potential founder with several children realized that launching a startup was too risky given their own personal situation and Seed salary benchmarks we provided.
Hopefully more convos like this between investors and founders won't be nerve-wracking for the founder or seen as taboo by the investor.
I’m extremely excited to announce that on June 26th 2024 we will hold the @KRASKickers @ Johns Hopkins event! We will talk about our efforts to make KRAS mutant cancers curable! Please share and join! https://t.co/KGUlN989eW
@RachelDigmann@Optum@BoesingLoretta FWIW had exactly the same happen for my family for asthma medicines. Not the same level of anxiety ofc but either pay through the nose or risk hospitalization.
