The Perseid Meteor Shower Over Loughshinny. ☄️✨

After the solar eclipse earlier that day, I headed out around midnight to find a relatively dark spot along the coast at Loughshinny. I set up two cameras, to cover as much of the night sky as possible over a two-hour window.

How many times have I told myself: Don’t rush to post, take a break, and look at the edit with fresh eyes?

A few hours after posting my first attempt at the Andromeda Galaxy, I looked at it again, realised the edit looked absolutely pants, and immediately processed it again

Driving back from the gym around 10:30pm, I noticed this tiny crescent moon slowly sinking in the night sky right ahead of me. Realising I was heading toward Dublin Airport, I took a quick detour to see if I could align it with the control tower before it vanished.

The Milkyway Over Loughcrew

After wrapping up my sunset and twilight shots at Loughcrew, I settled in to test out my new lens, the Viltrox 16mm f/1.8. Because it was mid-July, I had to wait several hours for true darkness to set in before any stars, let alone the Milky Way.

Another batch of images from Loughcrew Cairns. After the sun dipped below the horizon, the moon made its appearance, gracefully blending into those warm, twilight skies.

Lightning strike beside Poolbeg captured from Sandymount Strand as thunderstorms occurred in the Irish Sea close to Wales.

The storms never got close enough to Dublin to really impact here but some late night strikes made for a nice light show.

The Pink Lake of Torrevieja, Spain.

A place that almost doesn’t look real.

Famous for its naturally pink water caused by algae and microorganisms in the highly salty lake, Torrevieja is already an incredible sight during the day, but just after sunset, it's something else.
