Remember when fast food was the backup plan?
The option when money was tight.
A burger and fries is now $15 to $20.
A burger with no fries and no drink is $10.
The backup plan just became unaffordable.
There is no affordable tier left in America.
Not at the grocery store.
Not at the drive through.
Nowhere.
america won't fund a single indoor public play space for kids, but for thirty years a hamburger chain quietly ran free climate-controlled playgrounds in every town, then tore them all out, and nobody held a hearing. the playplace was infrastructure and we won't admit we miss it
My biggest frustration with American culture is that everything is viewed as an imposition.
Don’t ask your loved one about a baby they may have lost, don’t bother new parents, don’t step in with a marriage headed toward divorce, don’t invite yourself over, don’t ask when couples want to have kids, don’t offer any opinions about the affairs of close friends and family.
Actually, maybe you should. And maybe the reason we’re all so lonely is that we insist upon having so much privacy from the people closest to us.
The ultimate scam of the American corporate system is making health insurance tied to your employment. It’s intentionally designed to keep you too terrified to quit a toxic job or start your own business.
“Tucker, you and Charlie had such a unique and special bond and relationship. It was a deep friendship. And you both had each other’s back.”
— Andrew Kolvet
Unless I’m working in an ER, working as a paramedic, or working as a firefighter, there’s no reason I should be expected to “thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.” Just fix the terrible management and stop running your office like a circus.
One thing I admire about GenZ is their ability to leave any situation by saying "the vibes are a bit off, I'm out"
Millennials will sit there and take it until their soul comes out to drag them away.
*uterus sheds its lining and REGENERATES itself every month*
“a human organ that can self-regenerate - hmm… that’s not interesting at all, let’s never study this.”

Turns out, everything our grandparents thought was cool, is cool.
Real food. Guns. Fishing. Hunting. Offensive jokes. Not trusting the government. Raising a family. Peace and quiet. A simple life.
Me, a SAHM who doesn’t drive, to my husband: My dearest love, can you take me to the store so I can buy you things with your hard earned money for Father’s Day?
With all this talk about pregnancy and midriffs can we please all agree on one thing...
I don't want to see the midriff of anyone under the age of 17.
This is my hot take, and yes, I do judge parents for it. It's one of the very few mum judges I allow myself.
>Plot centers entirely around fighting extreme government taxation and overreach
>The Sheriff of Nottingham literally collects taxes from the church poor box
>Friar Tuck gets so fed up with the state disrespecting the Church that he physically throws hands with the Sheriff
>Casts the Crusades in a positive light
>Male protagonist who risks his life for his people
>Unapologetically traditional romance with Maid Marian without any modern subversion
>Climax is literally a raid to break political prisoners out of a corrupt jail
>Story resolves when the rightful, divinely-appointed monarch returns from the Holy Land to crush the corrupt politicians
>Ends with a beautiful church wedding and a happily ever after
We need to make Kid's stories based again
Women aren’t struggling because they’re women.
Many struggle because they’re expected to work as if they don’t have children and parent as if they don’t have jobs or other responsibilities.
That reality is often ignored, but it has real consequences.
At the end of the day, that makes it a women’s health crisis.
What an incredible display of patriotism! 🇦🇱
Albanians have shown just how much they love their country. Yes, Albania, yes! The people of Albania have made history and made their nation proud. A truly unforgettable moment!
My take on child-free weddings is that the guest list isn’t the issue.
Why the hell are we attending a party for two people who are already living together and having sex, don’t like or want kids, and no change occurs?
I think what conservatives are trying to say with the birth rate discussion, is the world is a better place when you have more young families in it.
Seeing young families implies safety, security, joy & the future.
As a mother of five, I totally agree!
BUT you have to have a culture that prioritizes that & we don’t! We have a culture that says children should be seen and not heard. That frowns when families walk on an airplane or in a restaurant. That believes families are a hindrance and society should be built around the desires of adults.
If you want to see more young families, you have to build society around THEM & there seems no desire to do that.😒
