@clemmygames@GreyAlien I think Jake occupies a different niche than the avg dev, and the % of reviewers vs purchases likely changes as purchase # goes up. I know ppl want a simple benchmark to compare game performance and reviews are easily accessible but I don't know if rules like '30x' work great.
@TShelfman This question leads to different questions dealing with larger objects (trees). Are trees targettable from any angle, or are they only targetted from their trunk. Do they exist as a single tile that visually obscures what's behind it, or are they taking up more physical space?
@TShelfman Box is better for multiple reasons IMO. It shows building targets while over grass, can change icons based on context, and doesn't need new assets for every object it can intersect with, making expanding content faster.
@ChilledChaos The game itself is also not... strict in design? Like, a lot of optimal play strategies are also not fun. Dissidents can be really aggressive in running around with objective items to just run out a timer. Constant try-hard and optimal play sucks the fun out of the game anyway.
🧗♂️It came out of nowhere but as of today it's been *10 years* since Mount Your Friends came out on Steam, and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who enjoyed my game, whether with their friends, online with strangers, or even just watching Streamers goof around with it 💪😮🍆

@HCJustinn Looking at Remind me Later and Learn More and wondering if hitting Learn More and then immediately X'ing out would make it so they don't remind me later
@RockLeeSmile Sometimes they are decent watches because the creator knows the community enough to give insight of advancements and timelines, but often it's also "here's a feature that I don't like and that's why this game is dead"
@RockLeeSmile The magic of finding a game that was at one point popular enough that everyone knows about it, but wasnt an aggressive live service title. Then iterate through every design decision that didn't give it 1000 hours of average playtime.
@AeornFlippout I should elaborate. You do show your choice of upgrades etc on screen but the fast paced 3d combat is likely harder to follow than say, distinct 2d Isaac enemies
@AeornFlippout I think about stream friendliness early in dev. Although roguelikes are often steamed I don't know if whisker squadron is as immediately state readable for casual viewers giving side glances occasionally
