Have you ever walked away from a job you loved because of toxic management or coworkers?

Years ago, I almost gave up teaching.
I joined a reputable school after carefully reading and signing its policies. School hours were clearly stated: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. That worked perfectly for me because I had other responsibilities after work.

A few weeks later, the proprietress complained that I left at closing time instead of staying back to wait for parents who arrived late to pick up their children.

My question was simple: If staff are penalized for breaking school policies, why should management be allowed to ignore those same policies when it suits them?

That conversation changed everything.
The work environment became uncomfortable, and I could feel myself slowly losing my passion for teaching.

So I made a difficult decision: I resigned.
Sometimes, walking away isn't giving up. Sometimes, it's protecting what you love before resentment destroys it.
Have you ever left a job because management refused to practice what they preached?
