Hi! I'm a solo dev and a PhD biochemist. My research centers on RNA folding, and Aptamirror is that idea turned into a quiet puzzle game. Made in Godot. Launching on Steam Nov 3. #gamedev #GodotEngine

@MelenStudio No, but that is an awesome idea!

No timer. No game over. No twitch reflexes. Just an original ambient score and a puzzle you can sit with for as long as you like. 🎧 #indiegame #cozygames

Aptamirror tool 3 of 4: Cleave. Cut the strand. Sometimes the fastest way to the right shape is to take it apart first. #indiedev #puzzlegame

"Do I need to know biology to play?" Nope. The science is the inspiration, not a prerequisite. The puzzles are pure spatial logic: fold this into that. Each tool is taught one at a time.

Every puzzle takes place in a quiet, star-lit corner of space. This one has a black hole for company. #ScreenshotSaturday #indiedev

Every puzzle in Aptamirror has three stars: ⭐ Match the shape ⭐ Break fewer bonds ⭐ Use the fewest moves The tidy solution and the clever one aren't always the same. #puzzlegame

Aptamirror tool 2 of 4: Mutate. Change a single base and you rewire which pairs can bond. One small change can open up a whole new fold. #indiedev #puzzlegame

Aptamirror: 50 hand-crafted folding puzzles. Four tools. No timers, no fail states, just an ambient soundtrack and a strand to fold. Launching Nov 3. Free demo out now. #WishlistWednesday https://t.co/s2blbexR8T

Why "Aptamirror"? Aptamers are short strands of DNA or RNA that fold into a precise 3D shape to bind a target. In the game, you fold a strand until it mirrors a target shape. Apta + mirror. 🧬

Aptamirror tool 1 of 4: Grab. Pick up the strand and fold it into position. Every puzzle starts here. #indiedev #puzzlegame

@Biggietronics The target image lights up dynamically while the player is folding to guide them where they are and what is wrong or right. It was quite the programming challenge to get right!
Most levels are 5-30 minutes at most. The end is only for the best of the best!

[Stellar Genesis Games @StellarGenGames]

Every puzzle in Aptamirror starts the same way: a loose strand and a target shape. Fold it until it mirrors the target. A calm, meditative puzzle game. Free demo on Steam now. #ScreenshotSaturday #indiedev https://t.co/s2blbexR8T

[Stellar Genesis Games @StellarGenGames]

@Biggietronics Some of the endgame puzzles get in the high tens to maybe low 100. Playtesters took as long as 3+ hours on some of the final puzzles to correctly solve. The difficulty really ramps up at the end!

[Stellar Genesis Games @StellarGenGames]

@_iffie The game is complete, just squashing bugs. It will be in the upcoming Fall Steam Next Fest, and then it is scheduled to release on November 2nd on Steam!

@MjTheHunter There's like this mid development stage where it feels like all hope is lost. If you keep pushing, eventually you hit this point where you are like Hey, this isn't actually too bad!
