Its simple, lightweight, and cost-effective design can be easily scaled for various payload requirements. Additionally, ILARS's inflatable construction offers exceptional protection to both payload and host vessel, providing an efficient and reliable solution.
Last week Steller Systems successfully trialed its innovative Inflatable Launch & Recovery System (ILARS) on the Hunt Class mine countermeasures vessel HMS Ledbury, deploying a REMUS 300 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle.
ILARS represents a unique, payload-agnostic solution capable of launching and recovering a wide range of Unmanned Surface and Underwater Vehicles (USVs and UUVs), whilst prioritising operator safety by minimising the need for personnel in the water.

Have a concept or design in mind that needs fast-tracking? Steller Systems’ Design Accelerator process can help transform your vision into reality, fast. Please contact us to find out more.
Steller Systems has just completed a major project using our cutting-edge Design Accelerator Process. In just 10 days, we transformed a set of ambitious requirements into a full concept design – including a bespoke hull, innovative superstructure, 3D GA, and detailed renders...
One by one, we’re making hulls more efficient with HullTune®. To learn more about how HullTune® can optimise your vessel’s performance, please contact us.
It was great to see one of our HullTune®-optimised hulls tested at @unisouthampton recently. It’s always good to see a design go from concept to physical model, and to validate the remarkable resistance reduction and seakeeping performance achieved by our HullTune® technology.
HullTune® uses Deep Learning Technology to optimise hull forms, ensuring that they are perfectly tailored to each vessel’s unique operating requirements. This not only enhances seakeeping and performance but also reduces running costs, build costs and environmental impact.
We are thrilled to have both John and Ben on board and look forward to the contributions they will make as part of the Steller Systems family. Welcome to the team John & Ben!
John Rotter also joins us from Newcastle University where he recently completed the MSc course in Naval Architecture. John comes to us with a solid foundation in the marine sector, having undertaken several internships.
This week we bid farewell to our talented summer interns, Sam Bradford and James Baines. It has been a pleasure having them with us, and we are proud to have supported their professional development. We wish them the best of luck with the remainder of their university studies!

With the increasing use of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) in military applications worldwide, Steller Systems was tasked with exploring the civilian potential of these vessels using our Design Accelerator process. (1/5)
Travelling at 40+ knots and with a range of 100+ miles, it can get on scene and assist ahead of crewed vessels. Its configurable payload area can be fitted with lifesaving, firefighting or spill response equipment – to suit any role where response time is critical. (4/5)
This week Steller Systems welcomes Edward Wilkinson as a Principal Structural Engineer. Edward is an engineering leader with more than 12 years' experience across the marine and aerospace industries, designing novel metallic and composite structures.
Welcome to the team Edward!
We are proud to have signed the #ArmedForcesCovenant, dedicating ourselves to being a good employer for the Armed Forces community and welcoming applicants from it. We have made firm, public commitments to provide practical support to veterans, reservists and families.
This week is #ArmedForcesWeek. Join us in celebrating our incredible service members with #ReservesDay on Wednesday and #ArmedForcesDay on Saturday.
At Steller, we deeply value the contributions of serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families.
