We love #Planaria, on our #MSc in #StemCellBiology we will explore how these amazing creatures #regenrate. An amazing practical involving Planaria - see their remarkable ability with your own eyes @StemCellBham @unibirm_MDS
Let's talk about the cross-eyed kings of regeneration, the planaria.
A single organism can be cut into 279 pieces, and after a few weeks, you'll have 279 new planarians (take that, Ship of Theseus!).
Their Wolverine-like powers come from "neoblasts", specialized stem cells...
The @birminghamcg22 Queen's Baton Relay travelled through our campus today. What a fabulous event! Here are a few photos from our #QBR2022 moment 😍
Thank you to everyone who came to cheer and clap and thank you to the Batonbearers who were amazing! #GameChangingBirmingham#B2022
Fluorescence activated #cell sorting #FACS is one of the crucial #laboratory techniques used to isolate #stemcells. Our #MSc will teach this technique amongst others throughout the course @unibirm_MDS and will use this during the #GeneEditing#dissertation.
