I think this thinking approach is definitely useful when it comes to looking at other’s designs and concepts. Its best to not imitate any designs and i think something different to do is to design the functionality of the building...

I now understand that first principle thinking really helps us to deepen our knowledge, breaking a whole situation into smaller, simpler parts and then putting them all tgt effectively, where its more convenient and more useful for the users

and looking at other’s works which makes us feel ‘trapped’. I’ve never come across this topic before and it really enlightened me on how innovations are mostly iterations of previous forms rather than an improvement with its function.

I think what first principle thinking to me is, it is about going back to the basics , removing all assumptions and questioning why in any situation we face, this is quite difficult knowing that we have been following analogies...

What we really need to change is not the form but rather the level of originality for content wise. I really liked the example of the stadium and the airports, since the circulations are visually the same.

purpose of practicality and efficiency, much like machines, with little effort to decorate it to make it look minimalistic. this means that by making it efficient , we need to have our neccessities met and nothing more since meeting our needs should be the top priority.

I learnt that contemporary tropical design is also designed in response to the climatic conditions around the site. It is not about copying the architectural form of the tropical house back then but it's about understanding the principles of it. #be1112
