NEW: After just 23 sitting days in 2025, the Legislature is set to rise today and won't resume until October 20th.
The current Parliamentary Calendar shows they were scheduled to return on Sept 8th.

This evening I watched the Ontario Party Leaders debate.
I would like to know exactly what Doug Ford meant when he said he’s in this for families - because he’s had 7 yrs to “get it done” yet:
I have dozens of families of children with complex special needs reaching out to me weekly because they’re in crisis - they cannot find services, support
There are over 50,000 autistic children/youth waitlisted for life-changing core services alone
A child in direct/indirect contact with CAS dies every 3 days bc CAS is trying desperately to fill gaps in critical services created by the province
6% of students with special needs aren’t attending school at all because of a lack of resources
School exclusions are skyrocketing for kids accessing special education support as school boards are cutting accommodations due to budgets not meeting need
Ontario Disability Support is WAY below the poverty line
Families are being ripped apart and lives are being lost
My heart is so heavy.
Ontario - we need you.
Don’t repeat what’s happening in the US.
Please, don’t look away.

Every person, group, or organization that endorses Doug Ford is sending a message:
1. They're ok with 50,000+ autistic children/youth being waitlisted (5+ yrs) for time-sensitive, critical services, therapies, support
2. They're ok with a child in care dying every 3 days
3. They're ok with special education being expunged across Ontario
4. They're ok with children with complex special needs, and their families, being left in the dust
5. They're ok with ODSP rates that hold people living with disability in poverty
I hear your message loud and clear.
I will be amplifying your message over the writ period so everyone knows exactly where you stand.
Doug had 7 years to "get it done". He didn't.

I spoke with a tearful #OntEd educator. She relayed the story of how she saw a child’s behaviour slowly escalating, and called for proactive support.
She called three times.
Each time the special ed teacher, educational assistants and administrator were already busy.
Our community is suffering the consequences of not having access to timely support. Doug Ford designed it that way & he has no desire to fix it meaningfully. Follow the link to learn more: #50KIsNotOK#onpoli#onted#WeHaveReceipts#DontLookAwayOntario https://t.co/oY4L6LmPcC
Families are in crisis. Supports are held behind barriers of time, geography, age, admin, inequity, understaffing & underfunding. Neveah’s family is an example of the consequences of not having access to appropriate, timely support #DontLookAwayOntario https://t.co/9jRHbglTFP
Autism families across ON are living in a prolonged crisis, paying the price of @fordnation's delays to the ON Autism Pgm. Sometimes that price is unfathomable. None of this is ok. We need you! Join the OAC. The time to stand up is NOW. #50KIsNotOK#onpoli#onted#WeHaveReceipts
The lack of timely & appropriate services in ON has REAL consequences for kids, families, educators, service providers, & taxpayers. Tell Minister Parsa it's more ethical & economical to support families upstream BEFORE crisis hits #50KIsNotOK#DontLookAwayOntario#onted#onpoli
