@jneuman13@Wolfe321@NPR Not only that, on the recap on @MorningEdition they played the same tired bs other networks did— his remarks about crowd size, etc. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the reporting on the press conference.
Fun times celebrating the @TheRep and its impact on Little Rock’s Arts & Culture community last night. Thank you to the Co-Chairs Stephanie & Myron Jackson and Leslie & Dr. Rhys Branman for hosting such a great event, and the consistent leadership of Will Trice & @KenMattMartin.
DYK? Black women experience a substantially wider pay gap due to the compounded effect of racism and sexism. 7.9.24 is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day— the day they must work until to earn the same pay as a non-Hispanic white man earned the previous year.
🧵As we close out #WomenHistoryMonth, I’m gratefully reflecting about the two women who led my re-election campaign, René Marie Spellman as Campaign Manager, and Stephanie Jackson as Senior Advisor. These two leaders strategically navigated our team to a successful victory!
On this day in 1965, police brutally attacked hundreds of civil rights activists during a march in Selma, Alabama, now known as Bloody Sunday. https://t.co/Z1XjuPN2kr
Three gunmen in a car open fire on eight high school students waiting at a school bus stop in Philadelphia and somehow this is not worthy of wall-to-wall national news coverage?
Two students are in critical condition; one student was shot nine times.
Donald Trump is trying to rewrite history when he glorifies the Jan 6 attack. We are eyewitnesses to what happened & it was an attack on police, the rule of law & Congress. The GOP must reject Trump’s glorification of those tragic hours. You can’t change the truth. #FITN

Little Rock and Arkansas’s own @pharoahsanders1 played a role in influencing Andre 3000’s ‘New Blue Sun’ album! Thank you @ArkansasNOIRE for enlightening us.
DYK? Andre 3000's 'New Blue Sun' was inspired in part by legendary Little Rock-born jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders. The album's first track had the studio working title of "Beyond the Pharaohs" as a nod to Sanders' extraordinary musicianship. #NOIRE#OurNewsOurCultureOurTime
Congrats to my sis and bro, @Steph7Jackson and Myron, on the launch of Arkansas’s newest statewide publication celebrating Black Arkansans. NOIRE is 🔥🔥🔥

A truly powerful moment in my journey was getting to meet Ms. Viola Fletcher, radiant at 109, the oldest living survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre. As we held each other's books, I felt the power and gravity of the moment: They want to hide a history that we are still living.
I can’t imagine Jesus putting razor blades in the water to harm immigrants.
Or advocating for economic policies that favor the rich and harm the poor.
Or doing nothing substantive to end gun violence.
It’s heartbreaking that many can imagine Jesus doing these things.
Wade Goodwyn was a legendary NPR reporter.
When it came to writing and delivery, he had no equal.
Every time a Wade story came on, no matter the topic, you had to listen.
I'll really miss him on the radio.

So they ban my book from young readers, confuse me with @oprah , fail to specify what parts of my poetry they object to, refuse to read any reviews, and offer no alternatives…Unnecessary #bookbans like these are on the rise, and we must fight back 👊🏿 DONATE here: https://t.co/QFjBGwYDCL
