You’re not on your own 💙
On average, patients labelled with Borderline Personality Disorder meet clinical criteria for 3-5 other psychiatric conditions which they won’t get treated for cos BPD is seen as a thing that trumps everything. Treating for the eating disorder? PTSD? PMDD? Ain’t happening.
Today is World Mental Health Day.
And if you’re struggling…
I just want to remind you that surviving is brave.
You don’t have to be positive all the time.
You don’t have to be healed to be worthy.
The world needs your story, even if it’s still messy.
Please don’t give up.
You’re not alone in this.
Imagine drowning, full body, in a pool of quickly hardening cement and being told to get out. You can’t. That’s how thoughts feel in OCD. Logic is there but cannot be applied. Like throwing rocks at that cement. It’s horrific to live with and to attempt to survive.
I am running a mental health and Faith course run by The sanctuary foundation at church, printed 15 sheets put out 14 chairs and we had about 22 attend the first session. God is good and surprises me constantly
