Making progress on the fine press limited edition book, The Canon of Aphrodisia. Adding in the artwork by Laurelin Gilmore and the mock-up for imposition is done! Ready to get on the press and print this book. #finepress#books#printing#bibliophile
@typepunchmatrix I’ve really enjoyed my copy of the romance bibliography. My mother and grandmother had some of those books and I’ve added them to my collection. As a result of reading this, I’ve dedicated a couple shelves in the library to collecting historical romance. Thanks!

Starting to read Matrix, printed at the Whittington Press, and it is a joy. Full of printing and book history. So much useful information for my own work, and samples of printing as well. #letterpress#finepress#printing#bibliophiles#books
I’ve never seen anything like this in a manuscript! Would love to know the process. @StanfordSpec does Stanford Manuscripts or Special Collections have anything similar in the collection? #manuscripts#books#bookhistory
Unusual 14th c. French manuscript with margins cut like lace. Known as canivet, this method is often associated with much later periods, but this text/image layout suggests maybe the margins were planned this way.
Are you a book collector? Book collecting isn’t just about old, leather-bound books: it can be zines around a certain theme, multiple copies of a single book bought in different locations, special editions of your favorite mystery series, or anything you want it to be!

Almost 20 yrs ago, I heard Robert Creeley read his poetry @UNCWilmington & he signed a copy of his book, Echoes. I recently acquired a fine press book of his poems, entitled Personal. It was printed by Peter Koch & illustrated by John Millei, 1998. #poetry#bookarts#finepress
I spent a lovely couple of hours at Keith Cranmer’s studio this week before Colophon Club meeting at @CODEXFoundation.
Keith and I discussed progress on wood engravings for the book, & I had my first lesson in wood engraving. #bookarts#woodengraving#letterpress
And I thought printing 4-up was going to be a challenge.
