Baby Kfir Bibas celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot 2 years ago. This year, Sukkot falls on October 7th โ a day that will forever carry the scars of the Hamas massacre. As we sit in our sukkahs this year, we remember Kfir and all the innocent lives stolen or shattered.
I cannot breathe watching the fighting inside Gaza City. As a former hostage, I know exactly what these moments feel like. The booming blasts, the gunfire, the walls shaking, the helplessness and despair that take over. The emotions come rushing back all at once, and it is unbearable.
Right now, I fear deeply for Avinatanโs life. I fear for the lives of all the hostages. I saw my friend die before my eyes in captivity, and I cannot accept that it should happen to anyone else, ever again.
We must not let this continue. We must do everything in our power to bring everyone home, to see the hostages, including Avinatan, return safely. I pray this operation ends swiftly, and that every soldier and every hostage comes back home safe and sound.
We need them back to heal; we need this to be over to recover.
This is Tami Baruch. On October 7, her world was shattered.
Her mother was murdered. Her younger son, Idan, was murdered. Her older son, Sahar, was taken hostage to Gaza and murdered in captivity.
Tammy has endured unthinkable horror and heartbreak. Yet her message is clear: save the hostages.
โIf my sons were alive today, they would say, โMom, please rescue whoever you can. We canโt be saved anymore, but others can.โโ

According to his family: โThe responsibility for Alon's wellbeing lies with his captors and the Hamas leadership, who are obligated to protect his life and health according to the rules of international law.โ

The saddest wedding ever.
Ilana Gritzewsky survived Hamas captivity. Yesterday, she stood under a wedding canopy without her groom. Instead of vows, she read a love letter to her partner, Matan Zangauker โ still held in Gaza after 681 days.
Escorted by the fathers of other hostages and by Matanโs mother, Ilana walked down the aisle carrying not joy, but absence.
Her words cut deep:
โMatan, my curly-haired oneโฆ If you hadnโt been kidnapped, we could have been married by now. I love you. Iโm fighting for you until you return. We will rebuild together and with Godโs help, we will build our Jewish home in Israel.โ
This is love stolen. A future stolen. A family stolen.
And itโs a reminder: 50 hostages are still in Hamas captivity.
