During the annual SEC Sports Medicine Meeting, the league announced a new honor, the Jim Madaleno Educational Excellence Award. Madaleno, UK’s Director of Sports Medicine and Performance, retired last year after 28 years of service to Wildcat student-athletes and the development of numerous athletics trainers who now work for collegiate and professional sports programs.
