Last night at @TheEES Cairo lecture, @CGraves88 demonstrated that, once again, there is so much more to learn about our founder Amelia Edwards. Visually and intellectually stimulating and nice to see @Beket_Aten pop up too!
Thanks to @essamnagy678 & @BritishCouncil for hosting!
@CGraves88@TheEES@ASA_1893 @Graecoromanegy @DinaGohar7 Despite the cold and wet weather, it was so lovely to revisit Alexandria (13 years since my last visit!) and see many old friends (incl @ziad_morsy, @DinaGohar7, & @Ahmed78Mansour) and make many new ones! Thanks for the hospitality, Alexandria! Inshallah, see you again soon!
Back in Cairo after a whirlwind weekend in Alexandria - which included a Friday stroll with @CGraves88 around the city, including a visit to the Serapeum.
@CGraves88@TheEES@ASA_1893 @Graecoromanegy Sunday started with the loveliest visit to the National Museum of Alexandria with curator @DinaGohar7. An amazing museum, collection, building (a palace!) - and great cats ๐ โบ๏ธ
@DinaGohar7@TheEES@CGraves88 It was so lovely to see you, Dina! Thank you for the fascinating tour of the National Museum - inshallah see you again in warmer, dryer weather!!
Was such an honour to work with 10 amazing Egyptian scholars and the @EgyptianMuseumC to have a Walking Trail exhibition in Egyptโs โMother Museumโ. Was a lot of work but really proud to see @theEES banners welcoming all the visitors to the museum!
We're delighted to launch a walking trail in the @EgyptianMuseumC highlighting 12 discoveries made during @TheEES excavations since 1882.
10 early-career Egyptian scholars, participants of our Egyptological Archives Skills School, researched the panels.

Really enjoyable visit to @AUC_RBSCL to meet with Amr Kamel and view some of the huge and amazing collection of rare books and archive - much of the archive focussing on documents and work of some of the most prolific Egyptian Egyptologists.

The preparations continue! Meeting at the @EgyptianMuseumC this afternoon to discuss logistics. Watch this space to see what weโve been up to! ๐
