@andrew_leach@CarsonJerema@colbycosh@nationalpost What is missing in a lot of analysis is that the court in both instances have been aware of the double game Rath's playing. He's arguing that the Referendum doesn't effect any rights but also designed it to trigger the wording on the Clarity Act to declare intention to secede.
@Le_Roke And everyone then will assume it was Trudeau's policy, that it was the Supreme Court's policy administered by cost conscious Provinces won't even be mentioned.
@Le_Roke@mssinenomine It wouldn't even be unreasonable for them to do so right now even with a stated leadership change. An election isn't the only mechanism to respond, its just the one that presently favours the CPCs interests the most. Which is why their partisans media treat it as the only option.
@Le_Roke@mssinenomine It would be entirely reasonable for a late term premiership that still had the support of the NDP (or BQ even) to respond to the Trump threats, particularly since all parties can be put on the spot to debate emergency national interest and unity measures.
@RobynUrback Name the treaty or other agreement between the governments of Israel and Canada that makes them allies. You're a professional writer of words Robyn, it behooves you to know what they mean.
@mattgurney Well the next question would be, can said emissary make the necessary decisions related this information, and the answer seems to be not unless it's proposed that the CPC now runs by the Leader checking his chief of staff for meaningful looks while making every decision.
@BretDevereaux Rebellion shines as a civil war simulator, because the covert and diplomatic elements interact with the conventional fleets and econ warfare in interesting ways. Its just buried beneath a clunky UI and an AI that has no clue how to do anything.
@IanRunkle@nadiaguo Firstly, if you made a claim like that on the actual statement in question (finding favourable op-eds on a subject) you'd get laughed out of court.
Secondly doesn't really align with the actual Canadian media landscape.
Your logic isn't together here Ian. Tighten it up.
@IanRunkle@nadiaguo French print media being heavily Pequiste in orientation. Propping up the dying print media system isn't an LPC partisan interest.
You're response is they claimed that they admitted that they controlled the media.
