Some animals are dangerous not because they attack you immediately, but because they patiently wait while you feed them, strengthen them, and give them the tools to eventually turn on you.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is that wolf.
Here are some of his clearest statement:

• “There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

• “Our civilization is one of conquest… Conquest is establishing the dominance of the justice that Allah commanded in the conquered region.”

• When crowds chanted “Jerusalem is ours,” Erdoğan replied “Inshallah.” He has repeatedly declared that Jerusalem is our city.

These are not slips of the tongue. This is a consistent neo-Ottoman, Islamist ideology.
Erdoğan did not create Turkey’s NATO membership, Turkey joined NATO in 1952, long before he came to power. He inherited it and has used it tactically ever since, gaining advanced Western weapons and political legitimacy while pursuing his own Islamic agenda.

Today, nearly 3 million people of Turkish origin live in Germany alone, with millions more across Europe. Erdoğan has openly encouraged them not to assimilate, but to preserve their identity and expand their influence.

His hostility toward Israel is not merely political, it is ideological. He sees Jerusalem as part of Turkey’s Islamic inheritance and hosts Hamas leaders while supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is not an alliance. This is tactical cooperation with a leader whose long-term vision is rooted in Islamic expansion and civilizational confrontation with the West.

As long as Erdoğan holds these beliefs, Turkey will remain a future rival, not a genuine partner.

Arming and empowering him today may prove to be a serious strategic mistake tomorrow.

The idea that when Trump loses power in 2028 things revert to normal — that’s not going to happen.
