Birth of a new era in the automotive industry: "Electric cars have gone from being considered a niche product to representing roughly a quarter of the global new-car market." Has been surreal to witness this in real time with a front row seat in the EV industry... all up from here folks.... ๐
The global electric vehicle market is heading towards $1.3 TRILLION.
While social media continues to argue about whether electric cars are the future, the global automotive industry is investing billions in making that future a reality.
A new report from MarketsandMarkets forecasts that the global electric vehicle market will grow from $794.6 billion in 2026 to $1.31 trillion by 2035.
Thatโs an increase of approximately 65% in just nine years.
In 2025, more than 20 MILLION electric cars were sold worldwide.
That means one in every four new cars sold globally was electric.
And according to projections cited in the report, that figure will reach 29% in 2026.
Electric cars have gone from being considered a niche product to representing roughly a quarter of the global new-car market.
And the technology is improving at an extraordinary pace.
Battery prices fell 8% in 2025, helping manufacturers make electric cars more affordable.
BYD has introduced charging technology capable of taking a compatible battery from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes, using ultra-high-powered charging equipment.
Nearly 1,000 different electric car models were available worldwide in 2025, giving consumers more choice than ever before.
China is already showing what mass adoption looks like, with electric cars accounting for nearly 55% of new car sales in 2025.
European electric car sales increased by more than 30% in 2025, while manufacturers including Tesla, Volkswagen, Hyundai, BMW and BYD continue developing more efficient vehicles, better batteries and faster charging technology.
Itโs a shame Toyota have gone a different route, towards threatening governments.
Renewables unlocks more efficient energy resilience, is cleaner for our lungs, and cleaner for our planet. A long term win for our country and our Earth. ๐ ๐ช๐
For over a century, energy meant buying fuelโover and over. Litres. Tonnes. Cubic metres. The model ran on endless consumption.
Solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, batteries, and EVs change that. Build the infrastructure once, then harvest what flows for freeโsunlight, wind, water, earth's heat.
Every new renewable asset reduces future fuel demand instead of feeding it.
That's the disruption. Not better tech. A business model that erodes its own customer base. Fossil fuels aren't just fighting cleaner energyโthey're fighting irrelevance.
@MrsCMFrancis@yesimjustamom Jane Eyre >>>>>> Wuthering Heights.
IMO Jane Eyre is low-key juicy unhinged but wuthering heights is overtly toxicly abusive unhinged.
Ironic that the top performing vehicle in Chinese sales is USAโs very own Tesla (although BYD does takes the cake when accounting for total brand sales) however USA is afraid to let BYD in due to concerns on market dominance. there is still plenty of market share for homegrown American made quality EVs and letting China come in as a more affordable optionโฆ keep the tariffs in place for industries related to national security (pharma, chips, etc) but let the invisible hand do its thing in the EV space yallโฆ.
