Who is going to listen to the cries of families whose beloved members are being killed, maimed, wounded, and internally displaced in a country not at war?
Regrettably, we have now normalised the fact that our nation bleeds with everyday bloodshed.
Again, the headlines today screamed of more bloodshed, with 15 people killed in Sokoto, 6 killed in Kwara, and over 600 Nigerian citizens from Niger state still missing since the flooding are now been presumed dead. How much more can we take?
Yesterday it was 10 in Anambra, and before then 37 people were killed in Yobe. Who will listen to our pain? Who will hear the silent cries of a nation waking up every morning to news of bloodshed, sorrow, and loss with families scattered in IDP camps?
We are living through a nightmare. We no longer have the strength to cry. We just wake up and ask, “How many people have been killed today”. Another village. Another family. Another mass grave.
We are tired.
We are broken.
Nigerians are living in fear of steady insecurity. When will it end?
We cannot survive much longer like this. May we, as a country, now take the security of life seriously? Not with words or empty condolences, but with action. Because no nation moves forward while its people live in fear of dying every day.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
Earlier today, I hosted the Anambra Muslim Community at my residence in Onitsha, to celebrate the Eid al Adha. In also presented cheques to the leaders of Onitsha and Awka Muslim Communities, in fulfilment if my earlier promise of helping to renovate their respective mosques.
Just to take a short nap from a 24-hour vigil for #NigeriaDecides2023, and our own @akintollgate has been abducted and taken to the Lekki area of Lagos State, by rogues in the @PoliceNG on trumped-up, kangaroo allegations?
This is calling on the Lagos CP, Idowu Owohunwa, to effect Akin's unconditional release within the next 24 hours.

BREAKING: LABOUR PARTY PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL CALLS FOR SUSPENSION OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTION RESULTS AND CANCELLATION OF COMPROMISED ELECTION
A statement read by Dr Akin Osuntokun, DG of the Labour Party Campaign Council at World Press Conference.
We wish to place the following on the record:
The President promised Nigerians free and fair elections with the passage of the new Electoral Act and, indeed has repeated this promise multiple times.
The INEC Chairman also came before Nigerians and the Global community to promise free and fair elections and severally reiterated its readiness to conduct the elections.
What has become glaring is that none of these promises has been kept. All promises about deploying a fail-safe system anchored on BVAS were broken.
The internet and social media are awash with videos and photographic pieces of evidence of the pervasive violence and attacks that were visited on Nigerians, with some attacks still ongoing across the country as we speak.
The evidence of collusion between INEC and the security forces to subvert the will of the people is too numerous to be detailed here.
The INEC guidelines on the conduct of the elections were extensively breached, and INEC has evidently been very reluctant to make the necessary adjustment to remedy the situation.
Contrary to the publicly advertised guidelines for the conduct of the elections, we are convinced that the processes leading to the results have been severely compromised. Consequently, we state that we have lost confidence in the results being collated and announced.
Nigerians have inundated us with calls and protests over INEC's non-compliance with provisions of the electoral guidelines and the obvious manipulations of the election results.
We, hereby, call on INEC to suspend the further announcement of the results, and follow its own guidelines or completely cancel the entire election and make plans for another election with strict compliance with the stipulated laws and guidelines.
We ask the international community to walk their talk in Nigeria and cease to condone the multiple evils being perpetrated in our country by the rulers of Nigeria. There cannot be one standard for Nigeria and another for the rest of the world.
We thank Nigerians for their support for our candidates, and we assure you all that your mandate shall not be surrendered to a desperate gaggle of failed rulers, who have brought nothing but ruination on our dear country.
We urge that Nigerians remain peaceful and law abiding, whilst assured that we are doing everything within the law to protect your sacred mandate.
Thank you, and God bless the Federal Republic of
Nigeria.

LP got over 1.8m votes in plateau state
Right now, INEC & the APC are trying to reduce it to 1.3m. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN!
@NgLabour@realkenokonkwo LP votes must be protected at all cost. HURRY!!
I'm with Dino Melaye on this.
He's asking that IREV results be displayed alongside results from returning officers for everyone to see. Since INEC made an entire meal out of its capacity to make information available in real time.
I’m already used to threats!
I have a record of all threats I have received, I also have recorded calls and messages of Powerful politicians and their children that have ever reached out to me!!!
I always said NO!
Because as long as I still dey, There shall be NO COMPROMISE!!!

BREAKING: LABOUR PARTY REJECTS 'DOCTORED' PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULTS, ACCUSES INEC OF COMPLICITY IN RIGGING
Text read by Julius Abure, LP National Chairman
As we are all aware, Nigeria held its general elections yesterday, an exercise that is ongoing as I speak.
Yesterday, February 25, 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission carried out elections nationwide for Presidential and National Assembly position.
The exercise has left millions of Nigerians disappointed and disillusioned because of the unprofessional conduct of state and non-state actors who participated in the process.
This press conference is to address the serious matters arising from the 2023 election, an extremely important election for Nigeria’s peace and development.
THE FAILURE OF INEC TO ABIDE BY THE PUBLISHED AND AGREED PROCESS
@inecnigeria by its conduct, has caused millions of Nigerians, particularly the teeming youth, who took part in this election with high hopes of a free and fair transparent process to hold strong feelings of disappointment and disillusionment.
The Electoral Act was amended in 2022 for the electronic transmission of results after they are declared at the polling units.
Nigerians participated in this process with the belief that the use of technology and adherence to the agreed electronic transmission of results to INEC servers at polling units would ensure free, fair, and transparent election.
Traditionally, Nigerians know that previous elections witnessed manipulations of results by desperate politicians at collation centres and polling units.
But, yesterday, Saturday, February 25, 2023, the very process which INEC assured Nigerians would be followed was truncated for whatever reasons. No matter what those reasons are, they are totally unacceptable to Nigerians and members of our party.
INEC servers shut down, and ONLY PRESIDENTIAL elections could not be uploaded onto the INEC server. The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) did not work as planned.
This failure has undoubtedly given room for manipulating the presidential results being announced by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu at the Collation Centre in Abuja.
We have sufficient documentary evidence that confirms that manipulations of the presidential election results have occurred in Lagos State, Rivers State, Imo State, parts of Edo State, Delta State, and some Northern states.
These manipulations were carried out under the watchful eyes and connivance of police officers at the various polling units and INEC offices.
The decision of INEC to go ahead to announce these doctored results based on manufactured voting has defeated the efforts made by Nigerians to see that the Electoral Act was amended to allow for electronic transmission of results.
It is disheartening that 24 hours after the elections held across the country that INEC is still yet to upload the authentic results of the Presidential poll on its server. The excuse that the server is down is not tenable.
Because we had meetings with INEC before the election, and they assured all political parties, and indeed Nigerians, that they had a DATA RECOVERY SERVER and in the event of a technical hitch, the emergency server would be used until the main server was brought back online.
We find it difficult to accept the flimsy excuse that the INEC servers were down.
INEC OFFICIALS REFUSING TO UPLOAD PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULTS IN LAGOS AND DELTA STATES
We note the impunity which occurred in the entire Lagos State during the conduct of yesterday’s election.
There were widespread incidences of violence, ethnic profiling, and threats meted out on Nigerians, particularly those who supported the Labour Party and our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Mr Peter Obi.
