I note that the group strongly rejects allegations of rebellion or betrayal from ruling party figures, asserting that defending the constitution is a fundamental democratic right. They argue that the liberation struggle was fought to secure freedom of thought for all citizens, meaning that veterans possess constitutional rights independent of any political party alignment,and should not be treated as mere “political decorations”.

They criticise Manhize for failing to improve veterans' welfare during his time as minister, reject Mahiya’s assertions of party supremacy over the national constitution, and remind Chivhayo that the judiciary is not a political rally. Oupa Kenneth Malope, born 30 March 1995, from Soshanguve, has been missing since 2 July 2019.

His brother, Kagiso Sylvester, has spent years searching for him and continues to hold onto hope. He has reportedly received information that Oupa may have been seen in Ngodini, Mpumalanga.

On the evening of 24 September 2026, our family member, uMamncane Mrs Ntombifuthi Rose Mkhize , was tragically shot in cold blood and killed by unknown gunmen in the eWosi area of Kranskop, KwaZulu-Natal, while she was driving with her family.

She leaves behind her husband and three young children, aged 11, 6 and 2.

Our family is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious, or has any information that could assist the investigation.

The matter has been reported to Kranskop SAPS.
