Today, Sinn Féin Councillor for the Garvaghy Road, Paul Duffy, arrived at his workplace to find his name and target signs spray-painted.

When Jim Allister talks about “sanitising” the Garvaghy Road, and the DUP describes the community as a “mob”, they must recognise the dangers of such language.

This language dehumanises the community and creates a climate where intimidation and violence can take hold.

This language must stop now. There can be no going back to the past.
