@ProfessorDEG Thank you for a fantastic experience, this has been my favorite course of honestly the best semesters I’ve had in my college career. Going into this as an END major I never thought I would enjoy/ relate to this course as much as I have, keep on changing lives #I2E21
@LeahStavrides I think this is a good point because it also asks the question what makes a good person? The person who does the right action and doesn’t know why or the person who does the right action because they know it is right? #I2E21
@Ragnaros2587 It also may be a mental component at work kind of like if someone asks u to imagine a color you've never seen before, u cant do it because the brain only knows what its experienced. The prisoners simply cant fathom the outside world because they have never experienced it. #I2E21
@SohamSh16719003 I dint think its closed minded, its more that the returning prisoner is basically trying to discount the others reality and way of life. And as we can see with different beliefs that people hold, when you try to change or replace a belief or way of life people push back. #I2E21
@SydneyEthics I agree that being courageous requires you to have some level of fear/doubt. The point of bravery I feel is to overcome fear in order to accomplish a goal. W3ithout a level of fear or doubt than the action you are taking just becomes a task, and a task is not really brave. #I2E21
@juliejacobs07 A major Difference, No. A slight difference based on past experiences, Yes. If we’ve learned anything in this course Morality is mostly the quest for happiness, higher mental functions, and avoiding harm. I see nothing there that males and females don’t share morally. #I2E21
@JonathanDaity I agree, I have found my self doing the same thing each exam we take, for the last question asking what you would do A or B, I always find my self thinking what about another answer or why not both or even what about half of A then something else. #I2E21
@LowShamya I think so, because ultimately we all die and we all fade away into history forgotten. So the end goal for our lived doesn’t go past that point, yet our happiness with life is the only thing really that goes with us up to that point. #I2E21
@JacobSh61423481 How do we know there is a difference between the Male and female moral development when it can also be argued that one side may not have known all their options? #I2E21
@JacobSh61423481 Same, and I would also like to point out that Amy kind of cheated in this thought experiment. There were 2 possible answers: 1Steal or 2don’t Steal, and she responded with Negotiate? #I2E21
@maxbeneshh@BHethics4 I think the main motivation is thinking if I help them and I don’t know them then when I need help someone I don’t know can help me. I always thought it as circles of care with your loved ones in the center and radiating circles of familiarity getting less and less care. #I2E21
@Jiazhen_Lu3 I would say it depends on the situation and the MEANS, example: If you want to mail a letter and you murder your neighbor and their family to get a stamp for it, the ENDS are morally neutral while the MEANS are morally Wrong. #I2E21
@BHethics4 To me the sign of absolute success in life is working to get yourself to a place where you now only have to concern yourself with what you want to do and never what you have to do. #I2E21
@BHethics4 I like to think of it as the worlds oldest tread. We have to do things we don’t want to do so that we are then able to have the decision to do what we want and only what we want... #I2E21
@briggsra20 My only question is what counts as a good outcome? Good and Evil are just words that we use to feel better about the decisions we make. So, couldn’t something have an outcome that to you is Evil and is morally wrong, but to another is Good and morally right? #I2E21
@ethicsub but I would describe the limit as when the child’s capability to understand the care they need for themselves becomes more than the parents intuition. #I2E21
@ethicsub I Agree that it is a common goal, and I would say the limit for Providing for your children is when it begins to hinder their own personal growth. There is a point where the care becomes unhealthy dependance and I would say it differs for everyone... #I2E21
@JulianaJjdenney In this case does that mean if a Human feels that something is worthless, does that mean that they can use it however they choose? Kent says it is wrong to use people as tools, but if one person views another as having no value can that person do what they want to the other? #I2E21
@school__mouse I agree with this thought but I what to ask, if we all share a common goal and differ in the ways we want to lead our lives, are we able to morally judge anyone who is in pursuit of the common goal but does so in a way that harms others? #I2E21
