For the last couple centuries, the Pretribulation rapture teaching has subverted its followers into thinking that Jesus could return at any moment. That's what the core doctrine of Imminency stands for.

With this belief, how does one plan for the future? If you are looking for Jesus to return while reading this post, does that not create a minute-by-minute sense of expectancy that never materializes?

The days turn into weeks, then years, then decades.

Our Lord never taught us to live like this! He taught us just the opposite.

Jesus provided us things to look for as signs.

Notice:
Luke 21:28
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Then... Not before!
Jesus told us exactly when to begin looking up at the sky for the rapture. Out of the mouth of Jesus, in that same verse, we find three powerful truths.

1. "And when these things begin to come to pass..."
It's when we begin to discern by the Spirit that the evil, moral depravity and natural disasters we are seeing around us is not coincidence. They're end time prophecies being fulfilled.

2. "...then look up, and lift up your heads..."
Jesus gave us a discernible time element through those signs, where we can confidently look up for the coming of Jesus in the clouds. Not prematurely, not blindly, not by a notion fostered upon us by pretrib dogma, but FULLY conscious and aware!

3. "...for your redemption draweth nigh..."
This is the tell all part of this verse. Our redemption. These words of Christ tell us that when we see the signs, when the sense of expectancy causes us to begin looking up, it's because we are about to experience the redemptive work of the cross in real time! The dead in Christ rise first, then those alive will be changed.

Jesus described the redemption of our bodies at the rapture, clearly after the Great Tribulation begins.
We know this because Jesus not only pointed to signs of wars, famines, climate disturbances and earthquakes, but he also pointed to these.

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION
Matthew 24:15
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
This sign will manifest when the antichrist enters the temple and declares himself to be God. 2 Thess 2 and Rev 13.

THE OPENING OF THE SIXTH SEAL
Matthew 24:29
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”
We know this is the sixth seal of Revelation. Read it in Rev 6:12.

Pay attention to what Jesus said next!

THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SON OF MAN
THEN WE SEE THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN
Matthew 24:30
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

THEN WE SEE THE ANGELS
THEN WE HEAR THE TRUMPET
THEN WE ARE GATHERED TOGETHER
Matthew 24:31
“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

After the sixth seal! After the abomination which maketh desolate!

The clouds. The angels. The trumpet. The gathering together.

Are those not the same words Paul used in 1 Thess 4?

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, nowhere in the bible did Jesus tell us that He returns twice. He only described this one, and He told us when we should expect it. And it is not at any moment.

7 things I wish somebody had told me before I tried to lead a Christian household:

1. Somebody is going to disciple your children.

2. You cannot defend convictions you do not possess.

3. Your family needs more than your political opinions.

4. A Bible you never open is not a sword.

5. The culture does not need your

6. There are far more spectators than builders.

7. Being outnumbered has never made you wrong.

The army isn’t the point.

The question is whether the man stands.

The wisdom books of Scripture will not allow us to keep any part of life outside the rule of God. They enter the sanctuary, the home, the marriage, the sickbed, the workplace, and finally the grave. Together they show us that the fear of the Lord is not one religious duty among many. It must govern the whole life.

The Psalms teach us to bring our entire heart before God. We praise, confess, lament, wait, and sometimes cry from depths where no easy answer has come. “Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:8). True worship does not pretend that everything is well. It bows honestly before God because He remains worthy in every condition.

Proverbs carries the fear of God into our speech, money, work, friendships, and private choices. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). A person may appear respectable while living without reference to God, but Scripture does not call that wisdom.

Job tears apart shallow explanations of suffering. His friends spoke confidently, yet God rebuked them because they had spoken wrongly about Him (Job 42:7). Job was not given a full explanation for his pain. He was brought to see that God remains sovereign, wise, and worthy even when His purposes are hidden (Job 1:21; 42:5–6).

Song of Solomon treats marital love as a gift to be guarded rather than an appetite to be used. Its love is personal, exclusive, and enduring: “Many waters cannot quench love” (Song of Solomon 8:7). Ecclesiastes then examines pleasure, wealth, labour, and human wisdom, and finds death waiting at the end of them all. Its final word is plain: “Fear God and keep His commandments,” because every life will be brought into judgment (Ecclesiastes 12:13–14).

The fear of the Lord holds all these books together, and their wisdom finds its fullness in Christ, “the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24). If our faith governs our songs but not our conduct, our suffering, our relationships, and our ordinary days, we have not yet learned to live wisely before God.

@QuantumDvir Traditional Dispensationalism foresees a future where Jews are on their own through a Great Tribulation, that’s not how I read Biblical prophecy working out. (I realise the whole notion of prophecy is madness to some).

I’ve always viewed the Olivet Discourse as a prediction for both the remnant Gentile Church and Remnant Israel. We will be in the cauldron together.

We are heading towards an Israel centric eschatology. The emerging Pre Wrath/Post Tribulation doctrine will lift both the remnant Church and the Jewish Messianic Movement from ultra dispensationalism.

Dolores O’Riordan was not Jewish, nor were any members of the Cranberries.

But unlike today when so much hate seems to be directed at Israel from Ireland, and Irish musicians, that was not the case with this band.

The Cranberries built a massive following in Israel during the 1990s and 2000s. In July 2000, the band played a massive, sold-out show in Israel at the Ra'anana Amphitheatre near Tel Aviv.

The venue was packed with thousands of fans, and according to the band’s diaries, they were stunned by the crowd's energy, noting, "There was about 25 thousand people!! It's a feeling like no other watching that many people go crazy in front of you!"

The band's raw, emotion-driven music deeply resonated with a generation of Israelis who grew up during the complex security landscape of the 1990s.

Zombie, an anti-violence anthem written about the Northern Ireland conflict, became a massive radio staple in Israel, where audiences strongly connected to its themes of enduring the psychological toll of political conflict.

When O’Riordan passed away unexpectedly in January 2018, the outpouring of grief in Israel was significant. Radio stations dedicated blocks of airtime to her music, and the official state of Israel social media channels published a tribute thanking her for the music and remembering the magic of the Cranberries concert in Israel.

@LuanaGoriss Open Brethren, but we had a number of the ‘old guard’ in fellowship who still held to some of the stricter attitudes, like head coverings, no TV or playing cards etc!

My mum and dad were terrible libertarians and let me out to play on Sundays.
