@DrLKVaughan @dr_shai As someone currently engaged in MRCP, I’m keen to learn from this. W/o a history of fever/neuro or a blood film, was it serum hallmarks of haemolytic anaemia alongside low plts and presumably an element of kidney injury that led your suspicion?

@AdamBoulton17 I agree with you. Hard to pinpoint the exact line this crosses. Even though we often discuss startling physiology amongst ourselves- it’s usually in context of the patient, the environment, the shift. This is just a banal glorification of critical illness on a whiteboard.

UK healthcare is falling apart, the waiting list is over 7 million appointments, unregulated individuals with no clinical training are delivering healthcare and doctors are being made redundant or are unemployed

Yet our regulator - the general medical Council, is worried about doctors receiving a box of chocolates from a grateful patient. Time to stop rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Your mental health during medical training

1. I'm a consultant interventional Cardiology that has performed thousands of interventional procedures in patients with heart attacks . Similar procedures are performed in patients with strokes but there are not enough people to deliver these- so patients die or are left with lifelong disabilities.

We are being blocked as Cardiologists doing these life-saving procedures in patients with strokes because we apparently lack training 😳 🙄but PAs with no medical training and a two year masters can be trained in interventional radiology 😳
