@bznotes I once stood next to him in line for 30 mins to get into Ramen Nagi in Palo Alto, and this was just two years ago, well after he was a very big deal - the man does appreciate good food!
You start a burger joint: Boomer Burgers. You hire 10 people to run it, and it makes money. Ok?
You branch out and build 2 more joints. You make more money.
You keep building new BBs. Dozens. Hundreds. Thousands. At what point does the money you're making become "unearned"?
@Manhattva You never answered my first question about their service in the military. Are the nearly 300 who have died wearing the US uniform in combat since 9/11 also enemies of civilization? I call them American heroes.
@Manhattva Yes, if someone like Elon Musk would have applied to join the police force when he graduated college, as a legal non-resident citizen, they would have been smart to hire him. Good employees can come from anywhere.
@Manhattva I think the issue here is you hold policemen on a pedestal for some reason. I do not give them "blanket authority" over me. I render under them the respect they deserve, just like the workers at the DMV and every politician holding office. They are employees of the state, no more
@sardinest Sorry I missed that before replying! Best of luck to you on your journey - there will always be a group of people who don’t know you but would gladly welcome you back into the fold if you get lonely out there
@sardinest I appreciate your post, Murray. Thanks for sharing so openly and honestly. I love this talk that a member of my stake presidency gave about the fact that he also never had spiritual experiences that felt like what others describe. https://t.co/uneWOkfMpg
It’s my son’s 10th bday. 10 years a parent and 14 years married is the greatest source of joy I have ever known. We were so young when we got married (23, 21) but we knew we loved each other and wanted to spend forever together so we have been successfully winging it ever since
@ldsfootnotes @BenjaminEPark@ConversationEDU With the church's current growth trends I wouldn't be surprised if the average memeber is in more need of assistance in the future. My own experiences with the church in Africa make me grateful some are thinking long-term about potential capital needs https://t.co/j7zF6Wg6EB
