Most people don't actually have a good grasp of what is City of LA and what isn't. So if Spencer Pratt wins, here is where he will be mayor and here is where he won't...
Hollywood - part of LA city
West Hollywood - separate city
Beverly Hills - separate city
...
East Los Angeles - unincorporated
Harbor Gateway (0.5 mile wide by 8 mile long strip of land connecting San Pedro to central LA) - part of LA city
It's not always clear who can vote for LA Mayor and who cannot, as the borders of LA City are extremely irregular.
The San Fernando Valley - mostly part of LA City, but San Fernando is NOT part of LA city, it is its own city
Culver City - separate city
Santa Monica - separate city
Marina Del Rey - unincorporated
San Pedro - part of LA City
Burbank, Glendale - separate cities
...
@OafishBlowfish Anyone in LA whose voting for Nithya Raman, thinking she's the YIMBY candidate that'll actually build housing and bring down costs. Like it or not, Spencer Pratt may be your homebuilder master, if you live in LA
Like a whack-a-mole, she keeps popping up running for office, any office, that's available. Her platform? Fighting Trump. Which is not a platform, especially for Insurance Commissioner, a job i can assure you she knows nothing about. @WolffOnYourSide is much more qualified!
The only candidate who acknowledged the injured SFPD officer - the other candidates are too narcissistic, self-absorbed, and disdainful of law enforcement to even give it a thought.
@JoeArellano@Scott_Wiener@MHurabiell Calm down there. Marie's claim that Scott Wiener's legislation has led to an explosion of sex trafficking is accurate. Go to Shotwell and 19th Sts. Go to Figueroa in LA. Scott Wiener is enabling literal human trafficking. Perhaps more attention should be paid to the true victims
Critical thinking is lost. 3/4 congress candidates receive their talking points from the same source, and are competing to repeat them louder. ICE is removing criminals, but Scott Wiener in an act of vanity is making it about himself and the LGBT community he claims to represent.
As we enter Pride Month, we recommit to fighting for our community & against the extremists who want us to disappear. Weโre not going anywhere. And weโre gonna have an amazing month while weโre at it!
It may surprise you to learn that, while I think building more housing is important, it's not the most important issue to me right now.
Also, if building more housing *is* the most important issue to you, you should know that the leftward lurch of LA local politics (both in policy and in vibes) is doing more to constrain production than zoning is.
