I’m sharing a quick update regarding Brian and Julie. They are now settled in Durham to be near Duke Hospital for the long haul—at least three months, and possibly longer. The doctors are indicating that his double lung transplant could happen within the next couple of weeks.

Brian and Julie want to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to everyone who has prayed, sent well-wishes, and donated to help cover the many expenses not covered by insurance.

While many have used the GoFundMe**, we know some of our friends and family prefer to use a check or money order rather than electronic means. Brian and Julie have a bank in the Durham area where they can easily make deposits.

This photo is a personal favorite. It shows Brian in healthier days, helping us restore the deck on our house. It was a terribly hot day, and that wet towel over his head was his "country boy" solution to keep going.

This photo shows who Brian is: a man who is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is looking forward to continuing to do exactly that once he receives those new lungs and can breathe again.

Every bit helps with the daily costs like the $14-a-day hospital parking, fuel, and housing while they wait for this life-changing surgery. Please keep the prayers coming for Brian, Julie, the medical team, and the donor family.
