Yesterday was an evening for us to be happy and to celebrate the National U17 Boys team - The Uganda Cubs that has made us believe that it can be achieved, - 'Chilling with the Big boys.
Uganda is among th 6 countries that have qualified to the FIFA U-17 World Cup back-to-back along side; Egypt, Mali, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Senegal and I want to say that this has not come accidentally but out of deliberate plans that we have made as a federation since 2015 when we started the FUFA Juniors League and other youth competitions.
Before that, we did not have any organised competition for younger players other than the Premier League and then the first division as we used to call it then.
Recently in 2023, we launched the Technical Master Plan and so most of the things you are seeing or going to see as a country are coming from a well-thought, structured, planned, resourced programme.
I want to also take this opportunity to thank the @NCSUganda1 who are our regulators but also the @Educ_SportsUg. Please deliver our regards to the leadership, to the Minister @JanetMuseveni but also H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda @KagutaMuseveni for believing in football, for supporting football, for funding football. We need to thank the @GovUganda because we can only be able to compete in these competitions if we are funded.
Thank you so much everybody who has made a contribution towards this milestone. Parents, schools, academies, coaches, media, fans, sponsors and partners and everybody else who supported, prayed qnd believed.
We now have work to do and we are going to make sure that we prepare this team for the World Cup in the best of abilities giving them the best possible conditions.
This time we have a higher hurdle to jump, if the last team played the football they played, we must play even better football. We have teams to beat starting in the group that has Argentina, Denmark and Australia.
To the Ugandans excitedly waiting in Qatar, the boys are coming back bigger and better.
It is our game, It is our Country๐บ๐ฌ!

I want to congratulate the schools that have been selected and agreed to be part of the @OfficialFUFA Schools of Excellence programme.
We have been thinking about this programme for the past 10 years and has been on our to do list for that long.
As an institution, we are strategic; we think through the steps we take, we read, research, consult and the success we normally get is not random.
This programme is part of our bigger mission of becoming the No. 1 footballing nation in Africa on and off the pitch which demands we must do certain things. It is part of tha FUFA Technical Master Plan (TMP) through which we want to develop an elite player that will eventually reach and play in the world's top leagues.
We believe with the schools' support, this journey we have embarked on will help us get that elite player- the X factor we have been looking for.
On Akaati K'emizannyo this Wednesday on @892cbsFm starting at 10pm.
It will be insightful as we share about everything presently happening in and around football in the country.
