@minogue732@andrewCDmcg@BBCRadio3@BBCSounds I listen to Dutch, German and Austrian radio stations fot classical concerts - rately GB oned: BBC radio & TV presentations of classical concerts are appalling. Presenters are either patronising or glibbly knowing. No time for it. R3 Building a library is a joke.
I Clavdis is always worth a watch, the scene where Livia works out that Claudius isn't such a bumbling fool after all has always stayed with me.

Well that was two life affirming minutes running through torrential rain and puddles! #britishsummer Thanks for your company this afternoon @ClassicFM I hope you’re hunkered down somewhere dry and warm!
This is really sad news…
I saw George last year in the newsroom. He was his gracious, cheerful self.I’ll never forget how supportive he was when I was reporting from the Middle East. A top journalist,a role model and a lovely person. May he rest in peace. https://t.co/FwuYz2XQ94
George Alagiah, 67 - 'fought until the bitter end but sadly that battle ended earlier today.'
Up until recently he campaigned for greater awareness. Listen to his @bowelcanceruk Podcast.
It could save a life, maybe yours.

Tributes will rightly be paid to a fantastic journalist and brilliant broadcaster - but George was the most decent, principled, kindest, most honourable man I have ever worked with. What a loss. https://t.co/SxfRs6FOsc
Deeply, deeply sorry to hear about dear George Alagiah. A gentler, kinder, more insightful and braver friend and colleague it would be hard to find. I loved having his company in the BBC World Affairs Unit, and his progress after that was a pleasure to watch.
Beautiful film of Bradford Agricultural Fair, West Yorkshire. Ladies in their stunning dresses and carrying umbrellas, little children on their best behaviour. Filmed by Mitchell and Kenyon in 1901.
Thursday was 20 July.
I thought about whether there was something I could helpfully add about the in many respects heroic effort on that date 79 years ago to assassinate Hitler.
In the process, I read something which hit me so hard I felt I had to share it.
A 🧵/1.
More great journalism from Byline Times… the dark money behind our right wing think tanks. The Tory donor, Soviet-born Billionaire and Fossil Fuel Interests Bankrolling British Politics – Byline Times https://t.co/2BIeRqTiqL
I remember when I moved to London I couldn’t open an account at Lloyd’s in Crouch End because they didn’t accept the Irish passport as valid ID. I didn’t go on Newsnight to complain; I just went next door to Barclays. Nigel is such a drama Queen.
Is your system set up in a new set if security codes each time we log on? In what way does this help older people? @TheFCA are you dealing with the terrible way older people have barriers to accessing their accounts?
@santanderuk hi, my father who is 91 relies on your website to do his personal banking. Every time he logs on we get a message about being unable to get into his accounts. And each time I end up changing the password and security number. This is very confusing for him.
