My mother died several years ago, a few years shy of 100. Almost every day since I have wished that she was still with us. Sadly, there are days when I am glad she is gone. Those are the days when Dr. Anthony Fauci is so publicly attacked that it makes the national news.
My mother loved Dr. Fauci not just because he bared a resemblance to her father, but because she saw what he was at the core of his being: a dedicated civil servant who was devoted to making the lives of others better in a job that is tough and often under appreciated.
Thank you, Lawrence O’Donnell, for your program tonight. Rather than rehash and re-fuel the motive-based political theater witnessed on The Hill today, it cast a light on the challenges of public health, and the fact that Dr. Fauci not only listened to the science, he listened to his critics. As you pointed out, adjustments he made saved countless lives during the AIDS and COVID epidemics.
We are going to want Dr. Fauci and others like him for the next pandemic. In the meantime, let’s hope someone reminds Sen. Rand Paul, M.D. of the oath he took long ago to do no harm.

Apple did some subtle marketing by having Rihanna and her dancers suspended on prototypes of iPhone 30. (Attention Fashion Industry: We’re gonna need bigger pockets.)#superbowlLVIIHalfTime
Standing ovation for Chris Innvar as Atticus Finch in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD on Broadway. It was so good I’m going back tomorrow. Chris plays this role of a lifetime through Sun 1/16. Get thee to the Shubert Theatre! You’ll be glad you did.

If you didn’t put your mail-in ballot in the provided outer envelope, it’s considered to be “naked.” Tonight, while other channels are showing official tallies, there will be in-depth coverage of naked ballots on Cinemax.#2020Elections
I like the idea of using yogurt to promote voting, but I think the message should be "Vote: It's what they do in active cultures." #vote2020 https://t.co/XRwW8lNxsT
Fake ballot boxes have been found on streets in California. Those responsible apparently got the idea after seeing Wile E. Coyote paint a tunnel on the side of a mountain.#VoterSuppression
I bet $1000 that moments before the Derby one of Bob Baffert’s horses would back out of the paddock, break the arm of Bob’s asst, & that another Baffert horse would win the race, freak out in winner’s circle, knocking Baffert to the ground. Sadly, I bet that LAST year.#KyDerby146
3 pioneers honored for their work in support of women’s rights, notably, the right to vote. In an era when most died under the age of 50, each of these advocates lived to be 86. No studies yet on life expectancy and suppressing the right to vote. #WomensEqualityDay#Vote2020
Kayleigh McEnany said science should not stand in the way of reopening schools. She also said the Voter Rights Act should not stand in the way of voter suppression. #ReopeningSchools
