@Thecityvent Beaten by the better team, but just remember where City were this time last year.
From promotion straight to the playoffs.........not a bad season really.
Fountains Abbey near Ripon is an absolutely amazing place to experience. Our first visit was on yesterday's Bank Holiday, which on reflection probably wasn't the best time to visit. I'm in no way spiritual but it is a place where you need peace & quiet to really appreciate.
A more relaxing part of the weekend was spent visiting Fawsley Hall & church near Daventry. It's history can be traced back to 1068. The hall is a mix of medieval, Tudor, Georgian & Victorian while the present church dates to the 13th Century.
For Christmas my brother in-law & myself were bought an Aston Martin experience at Silverstone. Taking a four litre Vantage down the Hangar Straight at 140 mph is not something I'll soon forget. I bought the in-car footage for an eye watering Β£50 but it's not something....1/2
@visitnorthyork We had a caravan on a site at Hawsker in the mid 70's. Apart from great memories of Whitby there was also the fog horn blarring out most of the night & rain on the caravan roof which sounded more like someone playing the drums. The beach is fantastic as the town itself.
Bradford city fans out in force to celebrate promotion to league 1. I wish my dad Harry had lived to see it. He used to tell me when he was a young boy he & his friends used to wait outside the ground to be let in for free at halftime. He lived to the grand old age of 96.
