We are actively monitoring the situation in DC. At this point there are no known threats to the Savannah area, but we are keeping a close watch on situations locally and have a team ready to activate if needed to ensure the safety of our citizens.
It is unimaginable that we have people in our state & country who are undermining public safety, attacking law enforcement, & breaking into gov't buildings. This is not the GA way & it's not the way of our country. These activities are a disgrace & quite honestly un-American.
Chatham County didn’t just stop. They completed the counting of everything they have in. That includes Election Day, Advanced, & all of the absentees they had in. The last left will be the absentee by mail that came in today. #gapol
UPDATE: just confirmed. Chatham County is done counting votes for the night.
The board of elections annex building is empty. Workers say they’ll be back at 8 a.m.

The city of Pooler has approved their budget for the 2021 fiscal year.
Numbers are up 2.6% from last year. 2 new departments have also been added
