@Perb378093Sue@Kevin_Maguire As I said they’re living in your head.
In the early 2000s there were more asylum applications than there are now but it was no big deal. Why? Because nobody noticed, it didn’t affect them. Then Farage got to work on the naive and vulnerable minds and now it lives in their heads.
@Perb378093Sue@Kevin_Maguire You appear to be keen to get away from the original point which tells me a lot. Unless you live in Dover harbour or next door to an HMO those arriving on boats make no practical difference to your life.
@Jenny_1884 You’re right about being classed as a benefit but NICs go nowhere near covering pensions and other benefits like maternity pay and sickness benefits.
@bull_robin56713@uk_decoded Yes and in private every politician knows the triple lock is unsustainable because given long enough it would mean state pensions paying out tens of thousands to each recipient every year. Simple maths tells you that.
@Perb378093Sue@Kevin_Maguire Spiked is hardly ‘reliable’ and if you’re reading that tripe it’s hardly surprising asylum seekers aren’t in hotels they’re living in your head. It would make no difference to your life in practice if they all stopped tomorrow.
@LadyWooHooMe@AllisonPearson Well in that case you could say exactly the same about any taxation or benefit so it’s irrelevant. If they are refusing to work they are of working age and highly unlikely to need or receive care in old age at this time.
@Perb378093Sue@Kevin_Maguire Where does that say they were raped on the boat?
From my understanding and info from people working in the area many women are claiming asylum precisely because they have been abused. Albania is a good example.
Besides how does that directly affect you which was the point in hand
@Perb378093Sue@Kevin_Maguire That’s hysterical and unhinged. Find one reliable source that shows women have been raped on board boats. Individuals have drowned, men women and children. Unlike some people water doesn’t discriminate.
