I genuinely want to understand something. Why is it that other people are allowed to praise their tribe, defend their culture, speak about it, and even correct others about it, but the moment a Yoruba person does the same, they’re labeled a bigot or accused of promoting division?
What kind of hypocrisy is that? Cultural pride shouldn’t only be acceptable when it comes from certain people. The same standard should apply to everyone.
Nigerian students win 15 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and 9 Bronze Medals at the 2026 International STEM Olympiad.
The students attend The Ambassadors Schools, Ota in Ogun State.
Mr Alex made this post on 8th of July that Chimdiebube Onwubiko, Don Anele Munachimso Marvelous, and Egejurum Onyedikachi Ethan won gold at the STEM Olympiad in Rome,
Since STEM Olympiad is an international competition/event, I felt other international news outlets would cover the event and infact release the results/reports before Alex Onyia does or alongside Alex Onyia, I felt something was off if he’s the one announcing the results and not the organizers of the show.
So I checked STEM Olympiad website which is https://t.co/ykuhN0I210, at the time I checked, there was no result/report of the event, I thought, how come Alex Onyia announced results when the organizers haven’t announced results, so I took a step further and emailed them to ask if the result of the competition is ready or has been published somewhere.
We worry so much about tomorrow that we may not even be there to see. If you can afford it, buy it, live life and enjoy it, na who dey enjoy life dey invest. I don't know if I should call this delayed gratification sef.
Gianni Infantino never expected Donald Trump and the USA to take credit for the suspension of Folarin Balogun’s red card. That’s where they messed up, because the USA is always about taking credit!
Power is the most important thing to them, and they don’t understand the culture and rules of football. They don’t!
Infantino seriously underestimated how power hungry the USA is. He seriously played himself!
This isn’t about the red card being suspended for the USA. It’s about them saying, “We can control FIFA,” just like they brag about controlling the world.
This is why politics has no place in football.
The Ministry of Education has now contacted the National Mathematical Centre to request that it submit all national Olympiad competitions it organizes.
They want to start sponsoring all of them to the international finals now.
They have started contacting schools already.
This was abandoned in 2019.
I hope they don’t politicize it.
Our children need to shine on global stages.
Just like always, Igbo people came together and donated to this cause. You were nowhere to be found during the fundraising, but now you’re shouting tribalism.
And please note this: it’s SOUTHEAST EDUCATION.
Your dad is not wrong. I even have written on it once.
Morocco shows up as MAR on scoreboards because FIFA's country codes do not always come from the English name.
A lot of them come from French, which is the working language FIFA has used since it was founded in Paris in 1904. Morocco in French is Le Maroc. First three letters: MAR.
And Morocco is not alone. This happens more than people realise.
Germany is GER, which tracks in English. But then you get to Ivory Coast, which shows up as CIV, from Côte d'Ivoire. Algeria is ALG from Algérie. Haiti is HAI from Haïti. Switzerland is SUI from Suisse. Spain is ESP from España. Iran appears as IRN.
The pattern runs across the entire scoreboards. Some countries are also coded based on whatever their language is.
FIFA built its codes in an era when French dominated international administration, and colonial history shaped which language a country's name was recorded in first.
That legacy is still sitting quietly on every scoreboard at this World Cup.
I hope you have learned something today.

Every developed nation first became an education superpower before becoming an economic superpower.
Education is not another sector.
Education is the operating system of a nation.
Everything else runs on it.
Look at America, Europe and Canada today.
Indians are leading top companies, building global technology, running hospitals, teaching in world-class universities and occupying important positions across the world.
Look at China.
They moved hundreds of millions from poverty to global power by taking education, science, engineering, manufacturing and national planning seriously.
None of this happened by accident.
Nations that invest in human capital eventually export influence.
That is the path we must take.
We are not grooming children just to survive Nigeria.
We are grooming a generation that will compete with the best minds on earth.
Our education must move from survival to global domination.
Everything looks rational and justifiable now, which I have no problem with. But by tomorrow, when it flips, do not cry foul play.
Hypocrisy is what annoys me the most on this app.
