@prometheus8080@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking How did you go from “Skenes’ fastball doesn’t move at all!” to “there are more to it than just break” - that’s not even English anyway lol
@prometheus8080@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking Do you watch the games or just fail at trying to insult people? Not moving as much but it’s WAY ABOVE league average. Have you even looked at the actual data? His horizontal break on the 4-seamer is 12.4 ARM. Average is 6-9. Come on, man
@stateofMIman@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking He was one example. How many dozens can you name who were elite to begin with? That’s part of the equation here. Almost every single HOFer lost velo and were successful. Pedro, Clemens, Randy Johnson, etc. Elite pitchers know how to pitch. If Skenes is truly elite, he’ll be fine
@Frankie11495@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking Maddux was throwing 91-92 and dropped to high 80s. Guys over time have done it. My point is taking 2 mph doesn’t automatically make a stud hittable. Look at Skenes’ analytics. His K% is actually better this year and his xERA is only 0.11 higher. Tells me some of it’s bad luck
@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking Look up Greg Maddux 1998. But also, Skenes’ first two seasons were ridiculous. It’s possible he throws 105 for the rest of his career and doesn’t have those numbers.
@ven_armbarn@AlwaysKnocking Are you saying he need to throw 99 to be elite? Because a lot of HOFers haven’t. A lot also lost more than 2 mph in velo. Skenes has the command and brains to do it too
@staplestodda You said 60+ for this hamstring strain. Now you’re moving the goalpost and stringing together bad luck and other injuries. What do you say about Judge?
@staplestodda He’s been out 19 games now. It’ll be at least 30 now keeping him out through the AS break. For something that he re-injured, it makes sense to let it fully heal. There’s zero incentive to bring him back early in June and July. If it was October, I’d have to guess he’d be playing
@staplestodda@grantmcauley When I covered the Phillies they absolutely did not give updates almost daily on any player unless they were close. Morton pitched on a broken leg in his last start of the yr in the WS - it happened during the game and he came out! Quite a bit different than early June hamstring
Just when you think it can't get worse for the 2026 New York Mets...
Gary Cohen: "A comedy of errors in the Mets' outfield!"
Ron Darling: "Holy 2015 World Series! I mean, my goodness!" ⚾️😬🎙️ #MLB
On what planet is Adam Hamari not going to 3B on this? No way should a home plate umpire ever make the call on anything this close. Jazz was absolutely right to be furious
@Pir8teAngel I’m no Soto fan but he’s leading the league in OPS and has 17 HRs. He’s doing exactly what they paid him to do (even though I think the contract was absolutely ridiculous). He can’t help when literally the entire infield including the pitcher records an error in a single game
Just outbid a young couple expecting their first kid on a 3/2 with 1,400 sq ft
I got their number for when it’s ready to rent so they get first dibs
Doing the right thing feels nice
