Happy to bring today #bacteriophages to perform #phagetherapy for the first time directly at the operating room of the paediatric hospital of @CHUdeLyon to treat a 10-year-old little girl with S. aureus prosthetic joint infection following sarcoma of the femur. This patient is the 58th treated patient at our institution, and the second in this pediatric hospital. Thanks so much to all people involved! There is definitely also a place for #phagetherapy for paediatric patients with severe bacterial infections! Time has come to imagine relevant clinical trials with dedicated methodology to try to demonstrate the added value of such incredible therapy!
